I love reading about your successes.

D emailed me with his Vendor Recipe successes and collecting tips.

[quote]Hi!

I’m a bit of a slow learner, yet to hit 100k but picking up so much helpful advice from your blog that I thought I’d better write and say thanks.

I’ve just had a huge breakthrough and am kicking myself for not exploring vendor recipe reselling before.

I’m on a pretty big realm and just assumed that the market in these would be saturated with hundreds of gold makers listing their recipes driving prices down into the sub 1g area.

I should’ve checked though shouldn’t I? Just sold all of the Kendor Kabonka vendored recipes at between 20-50g.  All of them bought in Stormwind, and all of them sold within one 48 hour post.

I realise this is old hat to you but I was amazed that such an easy market was still unexploited on a big server, I was the only poster for some of them. So I’ve decided to make a round-trip of all the vendored recipes in Azeroth this evening.

As if I wasn’t in enough of an excited frenzy already, I just found that the addon ‘Ackis Recipe List‘ will quite happily filter recipes into a list of vendored items and gives the coordinates of each vendor.  To top it all, shift-ctrl-click on a recipe in the list and it adds the vendor as a tomtom waypoint. Well that’s my evening sorted out.  Thanks for all the help with making gold, the blog is awesome,

D, you think that this is “old hat” to me.  Yes, it is something I discovered a few years back, but it is still something that works!

And it’s really important to remind myself of where we all start, trying to make sense of it all, and how important it is to keep grounded and keep doing the same things if they are profitable.

My favourite vendor recipe is the Spiced Chili Crab by the way.

Ackis Recipe List

[quote]The Ackis Recipe List addon found the Spiced Chilli Crab recipe for me and I’ve sold 3 at between 80 and 95g, all sold within the first listing period.

I get a lot of email and everyone gets an answer, but sometimes a reader comes up with a great idea that has to be shared!

D, if you’re reading, I’d love to know how much you can make in one 24 hours just with vendor recipe reselling.  We also call it “flipping” and it’s a well known and easy way to make gold, but D’s important point is if it makes profit, do it!

Do any other readers use Ackis Recipe List and TomTom waypoints to make their vendor routes? I bet you know loads of out-of-the-way places for these limited supply recipes.

Right now, I’ve got between 3/4 to a guild tab filled with vendor recipes that I can’t seem to offload. Some recipes will sell instantly. Some, I just seem to get stuck with.

Is there any way to know which is which ahead of time?

I’ve been doing this for a while after picking the idea up from some gold blog/site (possibly this one, I read several sporadically but only this one frequently). Also, I’m a bit of an alt hoarder, and have been on a serious alt leveling spree since switching realms a couple of months ago, so I’ve been picking up a handful of recipes whenever I pass by a vendor that sells them. I’m notified of nearby vendors by the very handy RecipeProfit for Gathermate (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/recipeprofit), there are other similar addons too and I highly recommend them for “passive” goldmaking. I do also use Ackis+Tomtom when I’m specifically after recipes, but generally I prefer to kill several birds with one stone. And then sell those birds for profit.

I actually use Dugi’s guide, it offers a vendor run guide that guides me through 3-4 different vendors. It costs money, but it works. I will have ot check out the other addons when wow comes back up today in an hour I will check it out most definitely

http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/recipeprofit is an amazing addon for doing this. It works with gatherer mate so tom tom support should be included automagically (i personally don’t use it but that’s mainly because I don’t do vendor recipes much) HOWEVER the big plus is it adds a mini map icon and world map icon that show where each recipe is located, and even tells you the npc name and what they sell when you hover over the icon!

    Give it a try!

Hi Mike, Recipe Profit for Gathermate 2 is my preferred addon for finding limited supply items from vendors. I love that it shows up on the minimap.

I was surprised to find, using the search feature of the Gold Queen, that I had never written about it!

      Advanced Search: http://www.thegoldqueen.com/search-website/

I once made a video showcasing the addon, so maybe that’s why I thought I had created a written guide here on the site. Do you think readers would like to see one?

I, like D, am new at “trying” to make gold. I read the post yesterday on cooking recipes and decided to find the horde vendors in desolace. Bought all the recipes and they each sold for 50g in 12 hours. It was awesome. Thanks for sharing your gold tips!

Limited Supply item selling is as old as the hills, but it’s effective! Work it into your weekly routine.
