So I’m hanging out in the AH last night about 3am, posting some glyphs. And there were two guys there, chatting about gold making. My ears pricked up about halfway through their conversation. It went something like this:
“Dragon Soul is such a faceroll. I’m finished raiding.”
“So what ya doing?”
“Nothing left to do but make gold. Got to prepare for Pandora.”
[Mini argument followed about “Pandora” -v- “Pandaria”.]
“So what’s your goal?”
“Huh?”
“How much gold you want 2 make?”
“As much as possible, trying for 20,000g to start MoP”
“Cool, ok.”
[Player starts discussing merits and demerits of other player’s mother]

I’m full JC minus x10 Cata, Alch and full Insciptor. I buy all my mats maybe farm Whiptail if fall short. Lastly I’ve 3 million gold.
I net from 100k to 200k gold per month max. Usually low 100k’s average.
I’m hard pushed to make more as the issue of time management looms. I gross maybe 10k per day and I’ve turned over 10 mill according to my stats.
Seriously to make 20k net per day???? yeah right.
What prevents me making more is time to repost undercuts and rescans and switching between alts etc…
I could say more but I mean no offence on the 20k per day unless your driving into a new expansion and then well you make huge amounts if prepared.

I have every profession maxed except blacksmithing, and several spare gathering characters at 85. I buy all my mats, occasionally farm heartblossom to give to my alchemist to turn Carnelians into Inferno Rubies, which in turn go to my JC who cuts them.
20,000g is my aim every day that I play. 8/10 days I’ll achieve 20k. The days I can’t make it, I curse my lack of time. If I only have time to repost unsold sales, I can make as little as 10k a day.
I have 4 million gold worth of sales on the AH at any one time across all my characters.
My scribe makes 5k pure profit.
Transmog can be 1k-5k of which I spent 100g in new investments.
JC is another 5k.
Alchemy is 500g
Pets can be between 1k to a max of 50k per day
Enchanting brings in 2k-10k
Then my “long tail alt” brings in 2-5k with his rare items and limited supply patterns.
Are you on a low-mid pop server? Have you sorted the automation of posting with addons?
Are you using all your profs to their max?
Are you leaving your auctions to sell whilst completing dailies AND gathering at the same time?
The shuffle is still making about 5,000g (my guess!) per hour, if you have the right price ore.

After posting I realised my comment was rather lame as I’m a “lazy gold maker” operating in my know comfort zone. Yes 20k per day net is for the more committed.
BTW I’m on Kargath which I believe is a mid pop server and operate co-cooperatively with 2 other gold making peers:-)

Hey GQ. Got back into WoW after a year or so off. Prior to my hiatus I was making maybe 10k gold every couple days. Now, I average 15k-40k PROFIT per day. Many say the AH is dead, but with everyone playing D3, the AH is even more prone to goblin takeovers. Rare and Epic weapons, armor and leveling “recipes” are selling for 5x their normal. Love your site and I too, prefer to use “pwnd”.
D3 has kinda changed the AH. There’s less crud in there, there’s less of everything. Less buyers, but less supply. Oh and the bots are back -.-
I’d be embarrassed if it took me more than 2 days to make 20k and that’s a really casual and relaxed pace with a lot of time going to having fun with the beta. I’ve made 40k in a day before when I’ve actually worked at it. Attainable goals are one thing, but at least make them challenging.
Babysitting your auctions can give enormous profits but as you say its a trade-off between sitting there doing it, and going to play and enjoy yourself. Glad to hear you have your priorities straight, loving the beta too!

Hello Gold Queen. First comment here. So I’m relatively new to gold making. I started back early this year and managed to break my first 100k. Since the cata slump i’ve managed to round off my professions list and level an alt or two. I know about 99% of the online [gold] resources so my knowledge is pretty broad. Basically I’m not sure if it’s my server or what but I seem to be at this 175k slump and can’t seem to make any more. I have spent money leveling BS, bought a few transmog items but otherwise I don’t spend much. How are you making 20k a day? I did stop selling enchant scrolls which was my big money maker because nothing is selling. I just have a feeling the player base isn’t there anymore. Please help me through this slump.

Every time your alt gains a level or a profession skill, you’re adding to your wealth, to your potential gold. Good stuff.
Getting to a particular number and not making more than that is a common complaint. When you’re making gold, are you reinvesting it, or buying things? What are you spending it on? Or have sales dried up recently?
I’m making 20k by getting all my alts and professions to work in harmony like an orchestra. Sometimes one alt makes nothing, and another makes a hell of a lot.
Can you have a look at my WoWuction video guide? WoWuction has actually helped me with enchanting because it shows which enchanting scrolls are in demand right this moment. So then I just make 1-2 of each of the top 5.
Keep in touch ok, I wanna know how your slump goes. You might find that you have the same number of coins in your pockets, but the value of your stock is increasing rapidly.

i still have 300k still gold cap, but going to push my guild harder in HC’s by offering chopper rolls and whatever i can think of, so will still be a push.
Altho to whoever has a target for MoP, i wish you mucho luck.
I’m toying with the idea of spending ALL OF IT before MoP just to give myself a challenge for MoP. I did that for Cata, and it was really hard, but also fun. What do you think?
I have about 550,000 to go to hit gold cap before MoP. I think I can hit it but it’s going to be close if it’s August release.
