The current leader of the Gold Speed Run made nearly 60,000g in the first week!
The fastest way I know to make World of Warcraft gold with a startup level 1 toon
How many times has someone whispered you, “Will you give me 1 gold so I can buy training?”. The amounts may vary and the purpose may differ but there they are with their hands out asking for money that you’ve earned and they haven’t.
I’ve written this small article that will be posted on a web site or two to show just how easy it is to make a hundred or so gold.
Draenei Hunter
One of the easiest if not the fastest way to earn some quick gold is to roll a Draenei hunter, level him to 4, run him over to the Azure Watch area. On the way to the town, kill at least 6 Moongraze stags and gather 1 moongraze tenderloin from each.
On entering the town, stop off at the Hunter trainer, accept the quest, turn in the tenderloins, send the recipe to your bank toon to place on the auction house. The most common price is about 149 gold but I’ve heard of them selling for 1000 gold. My personal high sale was 659g.
Additional coins may be obtained by selling all the gray loot to the vendor and auctioning the small eggs gathered from killing timberstriders. They are currently selling for 96 silver each on my server.
Recipe: Moongraze Tenderloin
After waiting for about an hour, my recipe: roasted moongraze tenderloin sold for 247 gold and the 3 eggs I gathered sold for 95 silver each. So, for slightly less than an hour of work, I earned about 250 gold.
This is a one-time quest per toon so in order to get the recipe again, you would need to roll a new draenei hunter and repeat.
Hot Tip:
You can save some time by using the current toon to gather 6 more moongraze tenderloins and mail them to the new toon to save him the time spent hunting.
This can be done as many times a day as it’s profitable or not terminally boring.

How to make WoW gold with Jewelcrafting
I got an email today from a reader with a question about how to start making gold with a jewelcrafter.
Hi, I’m a maxed jewelcrafter, and I’m almost completely broke. I don’t even have 280% flying yet. Maybe you can be kind and give me a few free pointers? Like what rare cuts to cut? I only have time to get like 2 tokens a week so I have to save up.
I was really happy to help because I know how overwhelming it can feel, looking at that huge list of possible gems to craft, your very small amount of currency – the jewelcrafting tokens. Then it gets even worse when you head to the Auction House and find such an enormous array of different sellers with different types of gems for sale.
WoW Popular website is a great resource for finding the most popular item. It’s useful for us here because we can sort the list into the most popular gems in World of Warcraft. Which is roughly the same as the best selling gems!
If you want to craft gems that will sell well and sell fast, go to WoW Popular and compare the best selling gems with the availability of each in the Auction House. Use your data you gathered with Auctioneer to double check that they sell well on your server. Then simply plug the gaps with your own gem cuts.
What to do if your Auction House competitors are completely covering the most popular gems
Now we are quite settled in World of Warcraft Cataclysm, those popular, fast-selling gems are becoming well-covered by your competitiors, filling the auction house. You need to decide whether you want to compete with them, or to diversify into the slower selling, more expensive gems. They are more expensive due to supply/demand rules. If the supply is low, and buyers still want the item, you can push the prices up until you meet their invisible ceiling of the maximum price they will pay for a gem.
Browse further down the list on WoW popular gems to find the less wanted gems, and discover a niche that no one else is covering, and provide that gem.
If you have the time, and resources, you can decide to build your own combination of both fast selling gems, and the slower selling rarer gems cuts. For example, Reckless Ember with Stormy Ocean Sapphire. Then you have both types covered!

- Gold earned from auctions

There it is, the shocking reason why you need help to get world of warcraft gold.
You have already earned and made more WoW gold than you could possibly spend, and yet, you have done just that: spent it! It’s gone.
Listen, there is no point buying world of warcraft gold guides, gold strategy plans, or reading warcraft tycoon’s blogs. There’s no point buying low, selling high, and no point in researching and flipping rare epic weapons and valuable limited supply patterns if you are going to waste the lot!

I’m talking from experience here. I used to go to the auction house every few levels with my characters, and kit them out with the latest gear, gems, enchants, and they would stand outside in the dull Ironforge sunshine, twinkling and dripping with epics. And I didn’t have a copper to my name. Then I’d repeat the same mistake with each and every one of my alts, regardless of whether I would even play them again.
I even have a level 40 with a travellers tundra mammoth that I haven’t logged on in over a year. What a waste.
Go get yourself number 8 from my list of Essential Addons. That addon is called pen and paper. This week, note down exactly what you’re spending every day, and why. Figure out a way to control your spending addiction. Perhaps put some aside every day, or move all your gold to one piggy bank character that can hold it for you and make it more difficult for you to access and spend on crap you don’t need. Before you invest in that “one time amazing deal” of a thousand stacks of silk cloth at half price, step back and think. Deep inside, you know that they’re just going to sit in your bank, and you’re wasting your gold and your time. Stop Spending!

How many auctions do you have running every day on World of Warcraft?

Auctionator. These are called Shopping lists. You need to click them yourself. The great thing about Shopping Lists is that you can compare the prices of all the items on the shopping list in one place. Learn more at the Official Auctionator guide.
Trade Skill Master. It is called Deal Finder. Zoxy’s excellent blog covers everything you need to know about how to flip with your snatch list.
