End of Expansion Jewelcrafting
There comes a time between the end of the last batch of content, and the release of the new expansion, when raw gem prices and cut gem prices are near equal.
There is no profit left in Jewelcrafting rare (blue) and uncommon (green) gems.
Epic gems can still turn a profit of 100-300g on a good day, depending on when you buy and sell. However it’s becoming a bit of a gamble.
Don’t worry, I’ve been through all this before and I can tell you what to do.
How to sell gems even when they don’t make a profit in the Auction House
1. Buy gems raw, unless you have plenty of time to waste prospecting the ore. I don’t.
2. Keep a small stack of 1-4 of each uncut rare gem in your bag.
3. Advertise in trade chat as a craftsman
4. [Jewelcrafting] LFW Your mats + 10g
5. You can change that 10g to “tip” or make it higher or lower according to demand. Buyers like a nice round number.
6. Meet the guy on a common place, e.g. in front of the Auction House.
This is how I used to make gold, when Jewelcrafting was first introduced, and the numbers available on the auction house were very low.
You can make more gold if you buy the ore and prospect it, or if you go and get the gold yourself. But as my time is very limited recently, just buy gems raw!

Sell
Winterspring Cub. Still selling like hotcakes.
Sinister Squashling. Between 700-1000g if you’re quick. These will plummet to 500g, 250g, then finally 100g in October 2012.
Buy
Spring Rabbits Foot: 200g or less. They’re not making any more for a few months.
Elementium Geodes: Get them whilst the botters are pumping them out, there will be many less in Mists of Pandaria
Always Sell
Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling, Brown Rabbit Crate, Mana Wyrmling, Red Moth Egg, Cockroach, Crimson Snake, Cat Carrier (Siamese), Parrot Cage (Senegal)
Why don’t players realise they can just get them from Dealer Rash-thingy in Stormspire?

Beta Enchanting Changes
Bad news for sellers, the only rod ever used will be the copper rod.
Enchanting
Unless you have been selling Arcanite for another use, then get rid of your arcanite. This is a bit of a shame for transmute-spec alchemists who have been quietly owning this market. Like myself.
What else can you use your Arcanite for?
http://www.wowhead.com/item=12360/arcanite-bar#reagent-for
Personally I’d go for stock dumping or turning them into Sulfuron Hammer for now. Alternatively if your blacksmith has the no longer in game enchanted thorium breastplate pattern, they will sell well for transmogrification buyers.
Enchanted Thorium Breastplate
Zurhho on Wowhead offered this advice:
If you are like me, reluctant to post on realm forum or ask in trade chat, you can find a blacksmith who has this plan with the following method (though somewhat time consuming).
1. Go to WoW Armory.
2. Look up any popular guilds on your server.
3. Click the Roster, top-right of the filtering options, there should be a drop-down menu “Achievement Points”, click it, and select “Professions”.
4. Select “Blacksmithing” in the Profession filtering option, and set minimum to 300 for the Skill level filtering option.
Now you have a list of blacksmith who potentially have this plan learned, just need to check their armory manually (the time-consuming part).
When you are checking their profession armory, here is a few things to watch out for.
1. Click “Learned” button! Else all the blacksmith you check will have the plan learned (since “Not Yet Learned” is selected too by default).
2. Type “enchant” in the search bar.
3. If that character has the plan learned, check their character armory by clicking their portrait, scroll down to the bottom, check when the armory was updated.
4. If that character looks pretty active (last update within 3 days or so), add that player to your in-game friend list.
5. Ask them to craft the armor for you when you are ready.
I know it is a lot of steps and tedious, but I prefer to have the ability to choose who to ask, and when to ask. I spent around 1 hour searching through 6 guilds, and found about 20 blacksmiths with the plan, and 9 of them were online within the last 3 days.
WoWinsider asked what is your gold making secret at their Breakfast Topic on 8th July.
I wrote a quick n dirty response on a notepad and posted it up.
All these tips are timeless, and will last you forever.
Know your buyers:
- What they want now
- what they’ll pay
- when they’ll pay most
- what they will want next
Know yourself
- Don’t exceed your boredom threshold. Divide your time up into 15 minute segments, because anyone can do anything for 15 minutes, even farming zzzzz. Even Argent Tournament dailies zzzzzz
- Invest in your professions. Your professions will make you more gold the more you invest in them.
- Invest in your alts. Your alts work in synergy with your main, increasing your potential gold making exponentially as you add to your alt matrix.
- Invest in your reputation with buyers.
Know your tools
- Understand the addons and use them to their maximum power.
- Auctioneer, auctionator, trade skill master, lil sparky’s workshop, postal, altoholic, gatherer, I’ve made a get-them-all-here suite at Curse http://www.curse.com/addon-packs/wow/the-gold-queen-money-13833
- Learn new changes to addons with a simple google search.
- Let the addons take the strain.
Know your competitors
- Respect your competitors, most of them know more than you do, and all of them have something to teach you.
- Work together. Monopolies and trading cartels are illegal in real life, but not in WoW. I don’t indulge personally, but its a legitimate opportunity.
- When your competitors beat you, learn from them and use the lesson to improve your future.
Know your “products”, ie items
- Where to get them, including crafting, farming, rare supply, or daily trade commodities
- What each of them are worth, their True Value.
- Only experience or research can serve you here.
- Learn more from reading gold making blogs, videos, guides, livestreams, websites. Ask your guild mates.
Know what wealth really is
- Coins in your pocket are no more than numbers. Pixels representing potentiality, what you could achieve or what you could buy. Therefore concentrate on what you want to achieve, not on gathering this potentiality.
- Wealth isn’t coins, its the ability to get the coins you need when you need them.
- Don’t rely on these gold coins. Increase your assets, and your ability to generate more.
- True riches is knowledge of getting what you want. Wisdom is knowing how when why to apply this knowledge.
- Don’t throw your riches away on whims and fancies. Your alt does NOT need epics at level 70. Really, he doesn’t.
- No-one likes a cheap bas-ard
- Time is NOT money, friend. You can always get more gold, you cannot get more time.
Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game.” – Donald Trump
The reason I love making gold is because its a meta-game where I make the rules. Gold making on the Auction House is intellectual pvp.” – the Gold Queen

WoW Factor show came to Europe this week.
This wasn’t the first WoW Factor in Europe but the first I bumped into. I support fellow gold bloggers, vloggers, streamers, and guide makers. The Gold Making Community has always been a friendly group. WoW Factor was coming to one of my side servers. Yes, I have more than one server, and I always keep plenty of gold on all my alts and all my servers. So I joined in and offered a 10,000g prize to the most unusual, rare, or difficult to obtain outfit.
Binny, a rogue, caught my eye immediately, her (his irl) green hair matching the Cenarian (Tier 1 druid) recolour. I know how difficult it can be to farm those dungeons for the drops. He even went so far as to transmog his hidden leg armor into warbear woolies. (That’s frilly leather knickers for the RPers amongst us.)
I can’t resist the idea of a gnome druid. Squirrel form, anyone?
Congratulations to Binny of The Argent Dawn EU, and to all the other many many winners!
