Vendor Your Uncommon Green Items?
There is a running joke at the moment with other gold makers and gold farmers that you should never vendor your greens. But I want to show you the exception to that rule.
I’m going to show you the easy way to choose whether you should Vendor, Disenchant, or Sell on the Auction House.
Once you have TSM installed, and the databases populated either with TSM Desktop App, or with a Full Scan of the AH, you will be able to mouseover your item and see a comparable set of values in the improved tooltip.

and for greens, blues, and purples you can see also the disenchanting values.
In the example above, we can see Market Value (my server!) of 50g 26s, the Global Sale Average of 27g 29s, Vendor value 26g 54s and Disenchant value of 46 silver.
From here its a simple case of choosing whichever is the biggest number: Whether the item sells best on the AH, whether it should be disenchanted or *wince* vendored. If you don’t have an enchanter character, or any enchanting buildings in your garrison/s, then ask a guild mate or friend if you can use their enchanting building to d/e.
The mace shown is quite a tricky example, because the Global Sale Average is only slightly higher from Vendor price. The realm price is higher, but on balance, I have to make the call between “how many times might I need to relist this on the AH in order to sell”, and “is that extra amount of gold worth my time“. And because the realm data is higher than the global data, is my realm overpriced already? If you have Mogit or if you just view the item on your paper doll, you can check the looks of the weapon/armor to double check whether it might be useful for mogging sales
In this example shown, I have made the tricky decision to actually vendor this green. It is not worth much more than the vendor value, if I were to sell on the AH. It’s worth almost nothing if it’s disenchanted. You would be richer if you sold this item on to a vendor (26g) then bought the disenchant materials (46s) from the AH.
Things of which to be wary:
- Could it be used for mogging? Check the transmogrifications snatch lists
- If it could be used by a leveling player, are you taking into account the secondary stats? … of the whale is not a popular item stat.
- Fist weapons, wands, and offhands are not easy to sell. They can sell, but take into account that they will be more difficult.

It was pulled from the game, and has now been added back into the loot table of Anguished Highborne.
These mobs look like female banshees and are in the centre of Winterspring.

The easiest route to Winterspring if you are over level 90 is take a portal from your Capital City to Mount Hyjal and fly north/east from Nordrassil.

How to deal with competitors
Remember – your competitors are also your (potential) customers.
If they have gold, it’s ok, they can then buy your things.
It’s ok for them to get gold as well as you. Their richness does not harm or threaten you.
You have the following options
Undercut them. This could mean much cancelling and reposting, and lower profit.
Overcut them. This is my version of “buy low, sell high” but without doing the buy low myself, allowing someone else to do the buy low part. Simply wait for their item to sell, then sell yours at the price that you want.
Diversify. Sell something else. Sell lots of other things. Or use the item you were going to sell to make something else. Herbs > ink > glyphs.
Sell to them. This is not a cop out or fail. A sale is a sale is a sale.
Nothing. Wait it out. You don’t need to sell every single item every single day.

There are two ways to have the tallest buildings in the city. You can knock your competitor’s buildings down. Or you can build yours bigger. I like building more than I like destroying.

Transmog Trade Skill Master Snatch Lists and Groups
I lost all my TSM lists. So when I needed to make some more, I went to see what was available in the community first.
My new TSM transmog list is based on Phat Lewts Mog group, and Keelhaul’s group (The Mogfather!) and to this I’ve added subgroups for the most popular selling items in the group, so if you’re just starting you can just find/sell the ones more likely to sell.
I’ve also added in even more mog groups so that the items completely match my old Auctionator Shopping Snatch Lists for Transmog.
To use these groups,
- Open Trade Skill Master with /tsm command
- At the top left click the purple crystal thing that opens Groups
- Type a name into the New Group group name, hit Okay
- Immediately go to Import/Export
- Paste the string into the Import section

I would call these mog snatch lists as Beta, not release version. They’re very rough around the edges. I need feedback on these – which items are missing? which are in the wrong lists? I think I might have a few helms hidden in there that look bad/sell bad. THANK YOU!

Farming Isle of Giants
Farming is good for making gold, but it gets very boring very fast, and the amount that you make is limited by the mobs and your killing ability not by your intelligence and quick wits.
That’s why I recommend farming as only one part of your whole gold generation and making.
Using the Daily Gold Cheat Sheet (free when you sign up to receive my blog posts by email) you can schedule an hour’s farming into your daily routine. I don’t like farming.
20k per hour
You can make 20,000g per hour in “looted item value”. Install WowProfitz’ new addon “loot appraiser” to add up the value of your items and set it to your preferred price database (eg local market value, global market value etc) and leave it to run while you farm for an hour.

Not all mobs are equal. The Devilsaurs give more than the other mobs, and are therefore more worthy of your attention. If you are racing another player (or bot!) to the next pack, which includes large and mall mobs, tag the larger ones rather than the small, and increase your gold per hour.
Selling Isle of Giants drops
- Random Pandaria Greens, some highly valued for mogging
- Direhorn, Zandalari Dinosaur pets (learn and cage them)
- Giant Dinosaur Bone
- From humanoids: cloth, vegetables (why!?)
The Giant Dinosaur Bones are used for getting a mount ( Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor) and a feat of strength. I’ve Got 9999 Problems but a Bone-White Primal Raptor Ain’t One You can choose to farm for yourself, or farm to sell the bones on the auction house for other players.
Prices for Giant Dinosaur Bones
Basically try and get over 1g30 each EU, 2g US, more or less depending on supply and demand. Mine are up at 1g10s for a quick sale. (Who wants to carry bones around in their bags all day long?)
Why farm Isle of Giants instead of Sra’Vess, Guo Lai Halls, Nagrand, Bastion of Twilight, AQ20, Other Farming Spot?
- A change is as good as a rest. You are not pulling your optimum killing power when you’re bored and mindlessly hitting things. Instead of stopping for a rest, take a change of scenery.
- Perhaps the items you find at [Other Farming Place] have flooded your market and you need different markets. Incidentally, check your server Auction House isn’t flooded with bones before you start farming here.
- Maybe the other areas are filled with bots.
- Maybe you just really really like dinosaurs (hey, I don’t judge!)
- Maybe you want to practice farming somewhere nice and quiet.
- My favourite reason: Because no one else is doing it.

Transmogging Updated for 2015
When I first called it in 2011 I knew it was going to be big, and that as a WoW Roleplayer I would have some extra knowledge of armor looks that would give me an advantage and help me make thousands and thousands of gold in world of warcraft with transmogrification.
What I didn’t know was that this market would still be going in 2015.
The make-a-quick-buck sellers disappeared into the night, and the long term sellers continue to farm, buy, and sell mogging gear. The oldest known mog seller that I know is still going is Elvine, who helped out with the WoW Factor shows. However, new players come into the market, some are silly gamblers who buy, then can’t sell, and then dump their stock.
