“You’re lucky. They don’t sell on my server.”
“Congrats Gold Queen, your items sold. But my Salvage Yard Crate items never sell. Transmog just doesn’t sell on my server.”
“You’re just lucky”
“You’ve got a secret list”
“I can’t sell them”
“It’s server specific”
I would agree with you. Transmogs don’t sell. Gear and common green armor doesn’t sell. If ……
They never sell if ….
- Not if I price them high, and expect them to sell immediately.
- Not if I allow competitors to undercut me.
- Not if I’m inflexible with pricing, and don’t adjust my prices compared to customer needs and competitor prices.
- They don’t sell on my server if I put ten of them up and allow buyers to realise that the item is not rare, special, or in short supply.
- They don’t sell if I try and price my items according to other server prices, instead of my own.
- They don’t sell if players can get the item quicker cheaper and easier by themselves.
- Not if I pick a random high price “because its transmog” instead of pricing them at their real value.
- My items never sell unless I’m persistent and reliable. Players need to know that “its easy to pick up cheap leveling gear” by seeing it always available. Train your buyers!
- Only 20% of my items sell without relisting. The other 80% need relisting again and again. I have to suck it up and pay the listing fees.
- My transmog items never sell if I list them at 2012 prices.
- My greens never sell if I never put them on the AH.
- I never make make 50k from Auctions if I put only 10k worth on AH
Nothing sells on my server when I don’t spend time putting the items actually up on the Auction House.
- I didn’t “get lucky” I worked really hard.
- I worked hard to find out what players wanted and to provide it for them.
- I worked out to take over certain markets.
- I worked hard to find out what time people bought things.
- It’s not luck!
Take a look at the players around you. Is their armor transmogged? Do you think every single one of them farmed for hours for their transmog item? No, at least some of them bought theirs on the AH. Muscle your way into the market!
Get off your butt and make some gold.
Final remark: I don’t enjoy boasting. but I kinda need to explain and show things if I have to convince people that I can make gold, and so can you.
There is no secret list.
The Gold Queen is written by Alyzande. With many level 100s, 9 years expertise in making gold, 11 garrisons, 17k+ achievements, 1593 days played, and over 32 million gold earned. The Gold Queen blog teaches you how to make gold playing World of Warcraft using ethical trading, auction house flipping, crafting, reselling snatch lists, and farming gold making.
Raiding For Gold: Cataclysm 25 Heroics
Today’s TGQ is a guest post by Vittoriya. She shares her tips and expertise for running Cataclysm 25 man raids, and the amount of gold you can make. I’ll hand over to Vittoriya now:
8,000g per week
If there’s one thing that The Gold Queen has taught me, it’s that there are many, many different ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. By far my favorite way–and probably one of the easiest, fastest, and more reliable ways–is farming old raids, specifically the Cataclysm 25 Heroics. It’s reliable, because you’ll automatically get around 8,000 gold per week from bosses and from vendoring BoPs. Then, if you do like to play the auction house a little bit, there’s a chance at much, much more, as there are BoEs and crafting patterns with fairly high droprates that you can turn around and sell.
First off, I highly recommend that if you’re going to take up farming raids for profit, you invest in a Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth. If you’re like me, your bags are constantly filling up, and this is just a quick way to vendor all of those soulbound items in your bags, get your gold, and continue on farming. It saves you having to leave the instance and fly to a town and sell things, which in turn saves you time. And I’m all about making as much gold as I can in as little time as possible, because I have other commitments like raids and guild activities and real life.
Now let’s take a look at the actual raids themselves. I’m not going to go into the specifics of boss mechanics in this article, but if you do need help with that for some reason, please feel free to check out my website, SoloingWoW.com. For now, though, we’ll just stick with the gold-making aspect of Cata raids, because that’s why everyone is here.
I timed all of these on my alt hunter, ilvl 689, to give an average level 100 with some Tanaan gear would experience. Your times and exact amounts will of course vary, but this will give you some idea of what to expect. All of the times listed INCLUDE travel time to the instance. You can use TSM or wowuction.com to find the auction values of greens, epics, and patterns that you loot along the way, to decide if you should auction them, or vendor them.
There are 6 Cata raids in total: Baradin Hold, Blackwing Descent, Dragon Soul, Firelands, The Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of the Four Winds. Let’s take a look at them each individually. Keep in mind that these numbers will always vary, but you’ll get a good idea here of what you could potentially make off these raids:
Baradin Hold
- Time 6 minutes
- Gold Looted: 77g
- Gear Vendored: 268g
- TOTAL 345g
- 57g per minute
Blackwing Descent
- Time: 17 minutes
- Gold Looted: 766g
- Gear Vendored: 771g
- AH Value – Embersilk Cloth 16g
- AH Value – Greenies: 243g
- AH Value- Epics: 304g
- TOTAL 2100g
- 123g per minute
Dragon Soul
- Time 34 minutes
- Gold Looted: 1095
- Gear Vendored: 1152g
- AHG Value – Greens: 159g
- AH Value – Patterns: 85g
- TOTAL 2491g
- 73g per minute
Firelands
- Time: 27 minutes
- Gold Looted: 959g
- Gear Vendored: 1055g
- AH Value – Greens: 531g
- AH Value – Epics: 103g
- AH Value- Embersilk Cloth: 4g
- TOTAL: 2652g
- 98g per minute
Bastion of Twilight
- Time: 18 minutes
- Gear Looted: 677g
- Gear Vendored: 659g
- AH Value – Recipes: 400g
- AH Value – Embersilk Cloth: 53g
- AH Value – Volatile Fire: 265g
- AH Value – Epics: 10760g*
- AH Value – Greenies: 561g*
- TOTAL: 13375g
- 743g per minute
*As you can see, I got EXTREMELY lucky with a very rare and valuable BoE drop during this run, a rare enchanting pattern, and another greenie that was also worth a lot. So this number is super high, but you can expect something more like 1750g-2000g on an average run. This just goes to show though, that sometimes you can get lucky and hit the jackpot.
Throne of the Four Winds
- Time: 5 minutes
- Gold Looted: 249g
- Gear Vendored: 154g
- TOTAL 503g
- 81g per minute
Summary
So totalling everything up, that means I had a lucky week and have the potential to make 21,366g from Cata 25 Heroics, if everything sells on the auction house. Even with JUST the gold looted and gear vendored, I made 7,882g in about an hour and 45 minutes, once per week.
If that sounds like a good return for your time, then I’d encourage you to also check out soloing these raids for profit. I have a good feeling that your banker will thank you.

Detailed list of gold earned from old raids by Pumpkin_Kinq https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/3r1dh5/my_detailed_list_of_gold_earned_from_old_raids/
The Gold Queen says:
“If you have 11 chars, that’s 8,000g x 11 = 88,000g per week. Do this once a week for 6 months to make 26 x 88,000g = 2,288,000g.
If your character is a tailor, the embersilk drops will increase. Craft embersilk into Deathsilk Cowls, and send them to your disenchanter. Each cowl takes 3 embersilk bolts + 2 eternium threads to craft, and disenchants into 1-8 hypnotic dust.
Hypnotic dust stacks to 200, and sells for another 2,354g per stack. “
World of Warcraft Easy Gold Addons Guide
Its been a long time since we last visited the subject of Addons as whole
Having just celebrated my 10 year WoW Anniversary, I’ve seen addons come and go. 4 years ago, players were still worrying whether addons were even allowed. (TL;DR: Yes, if open sources and free. No if paid-for.)
In 2010 we were downloading addons by hand, now lots of us use Curse App to simple update, delete, and search for new addons.
Many of the smaller gold making addons are gone. Some were replaced by Trade Skill Master as it improved, some simply became obsolete like ore-crusher which used to calculate profits from prospecting ores in pre-MoP.
TGQ’s Money Making Addons Pack
In this week’s podcast segment, I talk about which addons to get. Of course, TSM is in the list, along with a few others.
The Worgen’s Howl (listen from around 64 minutes in)
You can download the full suite of my recommended addons here at Curse Gaming.

Something new that I’m trying recently is offering gold making tips and ideas on podcasts.
It’s my first time being involved in podcasting (except for disasterous attempts at fitting into the conversation on the Just My Two Copper podcast that we won’t ever mention again!)
Let me know what you think.

Also they talked about me a lot on this week’s Your Wow Money podcast which was really exciting.
I’m kinda shy about joining podcasts, and never really listen to them, being an android user. iTunes and podcasts have passed me by. But if podcasts are what you listen to, then podcasts it is!
I’d like to know please if you are interested in me making this into a regular, perhaps weekly/fortnightly thing, or if you listen to podcasts at all. How would you like your gold queen served today?

Your invitation to my 10 Year Anniversary Party
I started playing World of Warcraft in October 2005 and rolled my first character, a purple haired night elf druid.
She is still my main today.
That’s 10 years playing the same character in World of Warcraft.
To mark my 10th Anniversary and my druid’s “birthday”, I’m throwing a Garrison Party and you are invited!
“You are warmly invited to
a garrison party on
Thursday 29th October 2015
to celebrate the gold queen’s 10 year wow anniversary
9.00pm GMT onward at my Garrison”
FAQs
How much does this cost?
It’s a party it doesn’t cost anything!
Why only 40 people?
I can only fit 40 EU Alliance into a raid, and thus my garrison at one time. So if we’re more than that, you’ll either have to join us on the Livestream, or we may have to move the party elsewhere.
Hey I’m Horde! WTF?
Sorry, but I can’t party/raid with you if you’re opposite faction to my main, so either make an alt and I’ll try and get a warlock to summon you over, or join us on the livestream
Hey, I’m American! Can I join?
Although I have a US account, I play on the EU servers with my main, and if you want to join me there, you are going to need a full World of Warcraft EU account. The starter edition won’t give you enough privs to join us. If you don’t have a EU account, you can join us on Livestream and party in the chat with us.
What is a Livestream anyway?
Over at www.twitch.tv/thegoldqueen you can watch me play World of Warcraft on the occasional days that I stream the game live. Usually I only stream when I’ve got some new gold making technique to show, or if someone wants some help and I need to show use of TSM (It’s usually TSM lol!). If you have or create a twitch account, you can join in with the chat.
What time?
That’s 9.00pm GMT not 9.00 server time
Ok can I have your battletag?
No. I keep my battletag, my friends list, and my realm information for myself and my friends. In order to join, I will make an invite-only LFG group using the group finder tool at 9.00pm GMT with the title “TGQ party with viewers” and you can ask for an invite that way. If we get trolls, I’ll just throw them out.
Should I bring a bottle?
It would be fun if you brought your toys, maybe some chocolate cake, fireworks, fun mounts, maybe we’ll have a fishing party. I don’t know many party games, do you? If nothing else, we can listen to music on the Livestream and /dance until midnight. I plan on having champagne IRL. After all, 10 years is a big celebration for me.
Can you give me gold tips while I’m there? I can show you my professions?
No, not this time. I’m celebrating, not working.
Have you got the 10 year orc statue?
Nope, not yet 🙁
Use group finder to join the party on the night

How to steal a snatch list
Is this ethical? I’ve been asking myself all day. But if others could do it to you, I’d prefer you to know first!
First, here is

How I stole his list
Step 1
Go to www.tradeskillmaster.com
(I assume you will be able to log in, that you have created an account so that you can use the TSM Desktop App in order to pull down the auction data straight into your TSM addon)
Step 2
Under Auctions, go to Top Sellers
Scroll down the list and find your competitor. For this example I chose a complete random player from Stormrage US. Names blurred to protect identity.
You’ll see a list of his/her auctions
You can sort them according to various paramaters, this example happens to have them sorted according to low buyout per item, so only the crappy stuff appears at the top. Don’t worry
Step 3
Highlight the whole list of his/her items.
Copy Ctrl-C the list.
If you can’t do it all at once, just do step 3-4 in stages.
Step 4
With it copied, go on the TSM website to Group Maker
Step 5
In the Group Maker page, paste the whole chunk of data that you copied, and the Group Import String will populate, and fill with a TSM string.
Step 6
Take the Group Import String by copying it, opening up your World of Warcraft, opening your TSM addon with the /tsm command, and prepare to use it in game.
Step 7
A) Create a new group
B) Paste the above TSM String into the Import window.
C) Click import. The group will now populate with a full list, in game, of your competitor’s items for sale. Not quite his ‘secret snatch list’ but definitely a list of all his items that he is trying to sell.
then
Now what?
- You can add a Shopping operation to it, if you want to look for these items available on the AH.
- You can add it to your Sniper Search
- You can search his auctions to find if any he has posted are underpriced
- You could use it to discover his farming methods and cut off his supply chain
- You could copy him and try and sell the exact same items
- You could search his list for weak/empty spots and fill those
- You could discover items you did not think were worth gold that he is regularly selling for a high price
