Spying on your Warcraft Gold Farming Competition 2

for step 1 see yesterday’s blog post – finding your competitors

Step 1: On TSM website

https://www.tradeskillmaster.com/sellers

You’ve checked the list of Top Sellers, now click the name of the guy you want to find out more about. (sorry Vincenpi if you’re reading this! I just chose a random name for the sake of illustration!)

Step 2: Move to WoW Progress

http://www.wowprogress.com/

Here you can be really scary stalker and put in the name of your competitor and find out the name of their alts.  If they are using a character (over level 20) to post as a bank alt, you can spy on the name of the main and add that to your friends list, and from there find out which places he/she is farming.

Important Tip

To stop your World of Warcraft Gold Farming competitors from finding out the name of your alts, you can sign up for an account at WoWprogress and request to have your alts hidden by following their instructions.

Reminder

We are spying on our competitors because we want to learn where they are gold farming and what they are doing to make gold in World of Warcraft.   Remember your ethics and manners in using this and all methods on Gold Queen.

There is one more possible trick for finding their main if the alt was under 20. If you looked up the sellers alt on the Armory since they were level 1. It shows what guild they were in so you take a look at the guild roster. If it’s just them in the guild there is nothing more you can do, HOWEVER, if there happen to be multiple characters sort by achievement points, it is then easy to see which characters are on the same account. This being said if you don’t want to be found this way it could be best to keep your AH alt in a separate guild.
