How to Use Wowhead’s Garrison App

Do you ever worry that your garrison workers are idle lazers, sitting around, having completed their missions, and awaiting your orders.

Drinking coffee and having smoke* breaks on your time?

(*peacebloom in a hickory pipe ofc)

Download the Wowhead Garrison App and addon, and never worry again!

The WoWhead Garrison App comes in two parts.

Part one is an app that you can download from Google play or itunes Apple app store. Put it on your smart phone.

Part two is an ingame WoW addon you can find at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info23317-WowheadGarrisonTimerQRCode.html

For people who are used to downloading with Curse Client, you download the .zip file, unzip it, and copy it into your addon folder

Do your normal Garrison routines.  Get the followers working, fill your bags with ore and herbs, set all the buildings working.  When you’ve finished, you’re ready to set a timer/reminder on your phone with the app.

Bring up Garrison QR app with command /garrisonqr or the shortcut

/gqr

gqrA large window opens with a QR code in it.

Open your smart phone, click to open the app

and the QR reader on your phone will pop up. Aim your camera at your computer screen and hold it steady to let the QR reader capture the image.  Immediately it does so, your entire garrison work orders, missions, and other cooldowns will be snapshotted.

The screen changes to something like this, showing a list of cooldowns.

You can scroll up and down to see them all

And over the course of time as the missions or orders complete, you get a little pop up on your phone. I pulled mine down for a closer look.

Now you can safely leave your garrison without worrying “what if my followers are sitting around idle, not making me any gold?!”

[learn_more caption=”What is a QR Code”] Wikipedia: QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) first designed for the automotive industry in Japan. A barcode is a machine-readable optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached. A QR code consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square grid on a white background, which can be read by an imaging device (such as a camera).[/learn_more]

Wowhead says “Support will be coming soon for users that have multiple characters with Garrisons.”

The other options in the app are in case you want to input the information manually. You probably don’t.
