What will you do once you reach the gold cap? How would you spend it?

Hey guys, ever really really been attracted to a gorgeous girl (or guy) and flirted your heart out, and been slightly disappointed when she turned out to be a big pushover?
Ever been back to an old dungeon in World of Warcraft, like Scarlet Monastry or Molten Core, and remembered how difficult the pulls were, how hard it was to complete and then felt a bit mellow to discover those bosses you worked on for so long were now just a walk in the park.
Blades of Light! Defend the Cathedral! Die, insect! and a few seconds later they’re dead? Leaves one feeling a bit empty.
Now that’s how I’d feel if I ever hit the gold cap. After you’ve hit the gold cap you have two places you can go:
Hit another gold cap, or spend spend spend.
My different opinion on hitting the gold cap is: no thank you. I want to sit at a comfortable “near-cap” of around 800,000g and know that I could buy anything I wanted, whenever I wanted, and still enjoy playing the gold and AH game. It is a mini-game in itself, and I never want to completely decimate and destroy it. I’d like to be in control of it, and tease the gold cap, flirt with the gold cap, and never actually reach it.
After all, don’t you have the most fun with a guy/girl when you’re flirting and teasing with them? 😉
Talking point: Would you rather enjoy the game of AH, or are you looking forward to showing off your million gold? Searching for a super rare mount or other vanity items? Or prefer to quietly smirk richly in the corner?

I’m just starting on my journey of real WoW gold making. I’ve dabbled in it, made hundreds and even had a 1.2k AH day… was very nice to open up the mail and have Postal tell me that I’d cracked the 1k barrier… I’ve mostly worked glyphs but not big time – I’ve been waiting to hit it all big time until I had leveled my toon up so I could make the best and most profitable items… Just getting my toons there now… and at the same time finding other ‘side markets’ like the PetStore idea sold here (it’s real and I’ve already increased my gold making on that venue alone).
I’ve done well enough that I have 2 toons with what used to be called “Epic flying” (now the 2nd highest) and my fiance also has 2 toons with it. My shop toon always has a few thousand in our family guild bank… but now I’m ready to take it to the next level – to put a couple more zero’s in my gold stash total over time.
Time for this ‘Grasshopper’ to start learning from the Masters – enough to develop my own techniques and styles.
It’s great to have your finger in a lot of pies, because then if one market doesn’t do so well, then you can rely on another market instead. If someone has undercut your glyphs, you can still make gold with enchanting. That’s one of the reasons I gave in to the Pet Shop market despite my initial (and incorrect) reservations that it might be too expensive to start.
Jael, I agree, I loved surprising my ex- guild master with a mechano chopper 🙂
I find myself making big purchases on the way rather than waiting until I’m there.
I’m in a tiny guild with friends. With all my AH play I don’t actually level much and they have always been more than happy to drag me along and get my “alts” geared (not knowing that I’ve been spending the majority of my free time at the AH). So now I’m getting a huge kick out of being able to gift mounts they wouldn’t otherwise have, giving something back – my way.
With new games coming out, and not being sure if I’ll still be playing WoW a year from now, it makes the most sense to me to spend my gold along the way. And as Shamaenei said, you spend some and next thing you know, you already have more gold than you did before you went on that spending spree.
You can always show off with a super rare mount even it you haven’t got gold capped because you have the ability to earn your investment back in a matter of weeks if not days.
