1. Each Item In Your Inventory Can Make Gold
A piece of ore, an herb or even a new item that drops.
Each of those items can be converted, crafted or sold for a profit.
Finding the best way to use that item and see the gold potential will put you ahead of the market.
2. Your Mind Is Your Best Addon
Many addons promise to make gold making easier.
Every one of them will make the mechanics of making gold easier.
But why not know how the addon makes it’s decisions?
How does your favorite addon choose pricing?
Decide what to craft?
How does it get those important numbers?
What will happen if the addon goes down and you’re on your own?
Knowing how to do these things without addons will make the work of addons that much stronger.
3. Information Is Your Weapon
How you choose to obtain information gives you access to keys to the gold making kingdom.
Each little bit adds to where you can look for gold in the game.
Subscribing to your favorite gold making site (that’s us right?) will set you above others who rely on information the pack obtains.

Unobtainable Items Returning After Patch 8.0
The Warcraft Gold Making community is awash with rumours and excitement.
Items that had been off the loot charts since World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are appearing to drop from the original drop spots.
These items had been seen all the up to 6,000,000g a piece (high demand for Transmog and status symbols).
The Story So Far
Whenever a rare item is dropped off the loot list it instantly becomes that much more valuable. Occasionally there is a matching look with another item. But some items it is a item or ability that can be found only in that item.
The first item that was reported was the Chromatic Sword.
Found on a mob in a cave in The Cape of Stranglethorn area named Scale Belly
After the early report on reddit that the item once again dropped, players swarmed the area in the hopes of obtaining hidden riches.
It became a Gold Arms race on who could post it on the AH first. With a 30 minute respawn rate, this item started appearing on Auction Houses faster and faster.
The members of the Reddit and discord Warcraft mysteries group started to dig into what had occurred.

Items such as the Blackened Defias Belt have appeared on the AH as well. These have long ago been off the loot tables for world drops.
The Aftermath
Each time another item is found, sales possibility drops significantly. For collectors this is a huge boon but for those that use programs to find ‘deals’ it can cause them to easily get into deep trouble.
Add to this players cleaning out their banks for new Battle for Azeroth materials and you end up with volatility in the market.
Many players who invested in items for long term sales are wanting to get rid of these before they lose gold with their investment. Driving down the prices on these ‘large ticket items’
An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it
Supply goes up, prices come down. It’s a basic rule of buying and selling items. But how to take advantage of this?
The easiest way is to find a place and sit there and ‘farm the mob. But there almost always will be a pack there that is already doing this.
Keeping an eye on sales and look for those that are just deciding to cut and run on what they can get. At times you can see 1000’s of gold discount on an item that you can grab and flip quickly.
But this is a dangerous investment. With more and more of these ‘rare’ items coming onto the market again the prices will be very volatile.

Advantages Of Farming in “Warmode”
Switching on ‘Warmode’ in your capital city (Stormwind/Orgrimmar) which might limit the amount of players farming that area.
But this also makes you a marked target if someone wants to start a fight.
More Items To Be Rediscovered?
There are many more items that have dropped off the loot table that might be rediscovered. Items that have been in high demand for years by transmog collectors for years.
As more and more are discovered, the opportunities to make gold increase. Random drops or even specific farming routes when something is discovered. Will you be able to discover the next great item that gets found again?

Turn Kingsblood into 10,000g
Shuffling is when you change one type of item into another, adding value.
Whether that be a one-step shuffle when you disenchant an item, or trade [Heavy Savage Leather] into [Pristine Hide] or trade 10 Primal Sargerite into Argulite gems. Or whether that be a many stepped shuffle with Ore prospected into gems, and jewellery for disenchanting mats, then made into enchanting scrolls.
Shuffling can be done with a crafting profession, or in other ways, such as using a vendor NPC.
Today’s Warcraft gold guide shuffles with a combination of methods and creates a product with great value.
Each time you shuffle something, the goal is to add value and increase the amount of gold you get when you eventually make your sale.
Step 1. Buy or Farm Kingsblood with Herbalism
Kingsblood is a cheap, low level herb. The Undermine Journal lists it at 9g, but clever goldmakers can pick it up at under 50s each on the Auction House by buying only the cheapest herbs offered.
Alternately you can buy Liferoot, Grave Moss or Wild Steelbloom if they are currently cheaper.
Farm herbs in Northern Stranglethorn Vale, Western Plaguelands or Wetlands.

Step 2. Mill Kingsblood into Burnt Pigment and Dawnstar Ink, with Inscription
Your scribe alt, or your guild mate with inscription, can mill your Kingsblood into pigments for inks. Dawnstar Ink, and Lion’s Ink.
Use Trade Skill Master or The Undermine Journal to find the most profitable glyphs for your leftover Lion’s Ink.
Lion’s Ink can be made into 4 different glyphs.
- Glyph of Evaporation
- Glyph of Spirit Raptors
- Glyph of the Blazing Trail
- Glyph of the Geist
The glyphs you make with your leftover Lion’s Ink will cover the costs of your herbs from Step 1. From hereon, it’s pure profit.
For this shuffle, you’re interested in [Dawnstar Ink].
Step 3. Turn Dawnstar Ink into Deck of Swords
A scribe turns the Burnt Pigment into Dawnstar ink, and then into Swords cards, a card from the Strange Tarot card. Collect these together into a set.
Step 4. Begin the Deck of Swords Quests
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST DO THIS ON A LEATHER WEARER NOT ON MAIL PLATE OR CLOTH
- Demon Hunter
- Druid
- Rogue
- Monk
Click your Swords Decks tarot cards to turn it into a quest item. Meet the Darkmoon Faire Mage who offers you a quest reward.
Step 5. Choose the Cloaked Shoulderpads <of random enchantment>
Cloaked Shoulderpads are blue/rare bind on equip shoulder armor which have two characteristics.
- They visually match the black leather Scouting Set.
- They can be used for transmogrification.
This makes them more very valuable in the Auction House
Step 6. Sell for up to 10,000g on the Auction House
Price the Cloaked Shoulderpads in your Auction House in the same way that you price the other black leather items. Remember, if your Cloaked Shoulderpads aren’t selling alone, try assembling a full set of Scouting armor and advertising it on trade chat.

What To Do With Leftover Nethershards
Nethershards are Warcraft Broken Shore and pre-Legion launch currency.
Now that players can no longer collect Mage Tower appearances from the Broken Shore, you likely have a stash of Nethershards from Warcraft Patch 7.2 that are unused.
Here is how to turn them into 8-9,000g items in unlimited quantities.
How To Get Nethershards
- Killing mobs under the Sentinax on Broken Shore
- Legion invasions
- Wyrmtongue Chests (See my guide here)
- From Wyrmtongue Cache Key chests
To Access Wyrmtongue Cache Keys
Soon as you start in the Broken Shore, you can find a Goblin right outside your start area with the beginnings of a 6-step quest chain.
Each quest rewards you with a better “ancient artifact with exorbitant value” which opens the next step after 2 to 3 days.

Patreon’s BfA Farming Routes
Back at Legion launch, I worked hard to gather all the herb and ore nodes in preparation, giving Patreons farming routes before the expansion was launched.
This year I’m doing the same thing again, and have gathered 800 Herb nodes and 431 Mining (ore) nodes
Not only will Patreons start off with a full map of herb and mining nodes, but there are farming videos up on the website showing routes for things like [Riverbud] herbs, and the new skinning, both leather and scales.

Time is Money Friend
For Patreons who have been supporting me for several months, I wanted to go one step further and send them a surprise gift in the mail.
Here’s the story of what I did:
First I asked patreons if they would like to receive the surprise, to let me know where to mail the gift. I understand its not always safe to give out your address to a stranger over the internet.
At first I was just going to get some badges (American: Pins? Buttons?) and mail them, but as I got hold of the badges/pins and got excited about giving away, I wanted to really get into this and give more back to the community.
The badges arrived, they looked awesome.
Focus on Time Organisation Skills
I hit upon the idea of “Time is Money Friend”
Giving away a nicely packaged watch, in two variants, Horde and Alliance, would remind patreons, when they looked at their wrist, that Time is Money, and to focus on their time organisational skills and not just killing mobs or posting on the auction house.
I ordered a large number of watches in designs suitable for all genders, and made sure to get both red and blue.

After spending all my money on gifts, silly me had to save up to pay for the mailing cost all across the world. Australia, Ireland, Norway, USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Darnassus, oh wait not that last one #toosoon?
