Shocking Temporal Crystal Prices

They’re usually 30-35g but on SOME servers you can get 100g or more for Temporal Crystals!

“What?! Temporal Crystals are 30g on my server” I hear you say.

Which Servers are Temporal Crystal Prices High?

You can use The Undermine Journal to search for any item.  Today we look at [Temporal Crystal]

Head over to the Undermine Journal, and search for your item in the search bar, top right.

Once you have an idea of price for [Temporal Crystal] on your server (upper left!) scroll down to see the whole range of the prices for the item on your server.  This works for all saleable items.

Often, you’ll find a correlation between supply, demand, and population.

Population affects both supply and demand

Here’s a very rough graph of price and population.

Is this right?

Or is this right?

You need to make a choice, a decision. Are you?

  • Optimistic
  • Hopeful
  • Realistic
  • Reactionary
  • Pragmatic
  • Determined

How to get Temporal Crystals

While you are considering the actual worth of Temporal Crystals, let me tell you how to get them.

Easiest way is to get them in your Warlords of Draenor garrison.  With an enchanting building/hut you can give the NPC some draenic dust and come back to pick up some temporal crystal pieces.  Put the pieces together to get a whole crystal.  The only effort you need is to get there, click it, and pick it up.

Alternative: Blackrock Foundry. Take your enchanter to Blackrock Foundry raid, or even better a multibox team of enchanters and kill the mobs in the raid.

Here’s the entrance in Gorgrond, Draenor

After you’ve conquered Blackrock Foundry why not head to Hellfire Citadel and try the bosses there?  Loot the epics, disenchant them, sell the crystals, profit!

Temporal Crystals are Cheap on my Server! Why is this Guide Important?

Easy question to answer!

You learn that item prices are not the same across all servers.

You learn to use Undermine Journal to check prices across servers.

You notice that your outlook on life (positive, negative?) affects your ideas about pricing on an item.

You take a chance on trying something new.

You notice that even if an item is cheap now, maybe it will be expensive tomorrow.

And you research which items can be made with the item.

Here comes the tweetable!

[bctt tweet=”I’m investigating prices for Temporal Crystals, and the fastest way to find them. ” username=”thegoldqueen”]

Why are Temporal Crystals Priced High?

It’s literally supply and demand. Where there is a good solid, fast or slow, just steady supply, the price will hold at what I call True Value.

What is True Value

True Value is one my very special, secret Gold Queen facts that I’ve been explaining to Patreons in my 100 hour+ Eternal Gold Guide video series.

It will blow you away if you knew it.

My business paradigm has always been “80% for free, on the website.  100%, organised, nicely presented, small cost”.

If you think that sounds fair, you’re very welcome to join me as a patreon.  But if the small cost is too much, that’s totally ok, and I’ll continue to give you free guides here on the website, day after day.

We’ve been going for 8 years, and you can count on us.

Farming Twink Items in Battle for Azeroth Onwards

Since Patch 7.3.5, when you go to a dungeon with your 1110 or 120 character, you get good transmog drops, but not twink items.

In order to get items for a level 19 character, you must take a level 19 character.

Transmog items sell well.

But twink items are now much rarer. So will they sell better?

Go fix yourself a coffee right now, because this is going to be a long guide!

Which loot ilevel is for Transmog? Which loot ilevel is for Twinking?

Let’s compare ilevels on similar loot.

Example: Dwarven Magestaff

There’s more +int on the higher item level, farmed with a higher level character, but only the last staff, item level 18, could be used by a level 19 character.

All three items could be bought by a player wanting transmog, but only the last item would be useful for a level 19 player.

Example: Pagan Shoes

The first two Pagan Shoes drop was farmed on a level 110, so requires the character level of 60.

Only the last Pagan Shoes, item level 19, could be used by a level 19 twink player.

All three items could be bought by a player wanting transmog, but only the last item would be useful for a level 19 twink player.

How Did Loot Change in Warcraft Patch 7.3.5

Loot drops changed in patch 7.3.5 with dungeons now awarding personal loot, and every zone in Azeroth using the level scaling introduced in Legion.

This means that if you take a level 110 or 120 to an old dungeon, the loot which drops will scale to the maximum level. For example, Stockades will give you level 60 loot. Not level 19 loot!

Zone Leveling after 7.3.5

  • Starting zones 1-10
  • Classic zones 10-60
  • Outland and Northrend 58-80
  • Cataclysm and Pandaria 80-90
  • Draenor level 90-100
  • Broken Isles 100-110
  • Kul Tiras/Zandalar 110-120

Which Dungeons for which levels?

  • 15-60: Deadmines, Ragefire Chasm
  • 17-60: Shadowfang Keep, Wailing Caverns
  • 20-60: Blackfathom Deeps, Stormwind Stockade
  • 24-60: Gnomeregan
  • 26-60: The Scarlet Monastery
  • 30-60: Maraudon, Razerfen Kraul
  • 35-60: Razerfen Downs
  • 36-60: Dire Maul
  • 38-60: Scholomance
  • 42-60: Stratholme – Scarlet
  • 44-60: Zul’Farrak
  • 46-60: Stratholme – Baron

  • 67-80: The Botanica, Halls of Lightning, The Mechanar, Occulus, Shadow Labyrinth, Shattered Halls, Steamvault, Utgarde Pinnacle
  • 68-80: The Arcatraz, Culling of Stratholme, Magister’s Terrace, Opening of the Dark Portal, Trial of the Champion
  • 70-80: Forge of Souls, Halls of Reflection, Pit of Saron
  • 80-90: Blackrock Caverns, Stormstout Brewery, Temple of the Jade Serpent, Throne of the Tides
  • 81-90: Stonecore, The Vortex Pinnacle
  • 82-90: Mogu’shan Palace, Shado-Pan Monastery
  • 83-90: The Gate of the Setting Sun, Siege of Niuzao Temple

How is Loot Changing in Patch 8.0?  What is Legacy Loot Mode?

  • Legacy Loot Mode changes bosses’ loot only.
  • The loot mode will activate automatically upon entering a dungeon or raid that’s trivial for you.
  • The number of items dropped by bosses will be the same as it would have been if you were in a full party. So if you’re in a 5-player dungeon, you’ll get 5 players’ worth of loot.
  • All items on the bosses’ loot table will have a chance to drop, not just the ones that are designated for your spec.
  • Bosses’ loot will be tradeable and split among members of your party or raid. If you have multiple players in the group, the loot will be split among those players, but be tradeable. For example, if you’re clearing with one other player and kill a boss that should drop 4 items, you’ll each be able to pick up two items and trade them between each other if you like.
  • BoE items aren’t affected. The ‘greens’ that you get won’t increase in number nor will trade materials like cloth.
  • Great for transmog collectors, not so great for transmog BoE farmers.

Which Gear To Farm for Twinks?

1: XPOff.  I started by looking at a Legion Twinking Guide, and checking which items were in high demand. Interested in Twinking?  Start with XPOff.  Here’s my grab of their information in case their website goes down again. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wupreVkbXCMsCIBpe3Yee8yL5ac-9NyK/view?usp=sharing

2: Wowhead. Once I had that full list of twink items, I cross referenced the gear with wowhead. Here’s my guide to Why We Love Wowhead.

3: Undermine Journal. Now that list is whittled down slightly, I went to the Undermine Journal to check every piece of loot and see which is selling for high prices.

4: Finally we can make a list of dungeons and their loot drops, and put together an ideal twink team for farming each dungeon.

How to Farm in a Group

Bring your max level character, and party up with a level 19 character.  That level 19 could be a friend’s twink, or your own alt on a 2nd account.

Don’t have a second account?  Create a 2nd account today by buying a Blizzard Battle Chest, they’re priced very low now.  You will never need to pay a subscription on this second account, because your second account can be playing Warcraft in the background and sniping on the Auction House while you are questing, raiding, pvping and adventuring in BfA in your main account. Here’s part 1 of my sniper guide.

Don’t have time for that? Convince a friend to bring a level 19 alt to sit parked by the entrance while you kill everything, and offer to do the same for them in return.

Blizzard have recently (21 June 2018) reactivated old inactive accounts, with their Welcome Back weekend, so this weekend might be a good time to get your old accounts working again!

The nest can be near the points, and hidden in tree trunks, branches, shrubs, and other unlootable nests.

Super hidden nest!

BONUS:

Bloodthorn Hatchling

Not a hatchling that you can loot from a nest, but one you buy using pet charms.

He costs 50 charms, and can be bought in your Warlords of Draenor Garrison, by Tiffy Trapspring and Giada Goldleash.

Spend 50 Pet charms, receive this unusual pet, learn, then recage and put him for sale on the AH.

He can be over 5000g at level 25, and will become rarer as players forget about goldmaking opportunities in Warlords of Draenor.

Patience is a Virtue

When we talk about goldmaking in World of Warcraft, you will often hear these three pieces of advice:

  1. Buying and selling at the right time.  Buying low when mats are cheaper, and selling, flipping, when supply is low and prices higher.
  2. Diversification. Never depending on a single market for your gold, looking at all professions, and selling a wide variety of items.
  3. Predicting the market. Stocking up before a major patch, dumping stock that will no longer be in demand.

Everyone wants fast gold, easy gold, hyper spawns, super fast kills, speed and destruction.

Patience is the difference between big and small profits

If you buy when materials are cheap (whatever that may be) and have the patience to wait until the supply is low, then you are due some much bigger profits.

Let me give you an example:

Pyrite Ore

This is an ore from Cataclysm, so it’s not going to be as badly affected by the end of Legion expansion.

Pyrium Bars are used to craft Truegold, which is used to craft 41 different items, including Vial of the Sands mount

If you purchased your Pyrite ore at 12g40 each, your truegold would cost you 24g80 plus volatile prices.

If you purchased your Pyrite ore at 246g67 each, your truegold would cost you 493g34, plus volatile prices.

This is a difference of 468.54 per truegold, and a difference of 5,622g per Vial of the Sands.  That’s over 5000g profit lost.

Why this difference in price? A look at the supply chart tells us all we need to know:

A large difference in the supply affects the price of the materials for sale.

A Little Patience

Patience goes a long way when selling, also.

At first glance, this wowuction chart looks flat, no difference in price. Look again.

That’s a 10,000g price difference.

You could sell at 65,000g, or you could sell at 75,000g.

I know which one I would choose.

Put together the 5,000g from your materials purchase, and your 10,000g from your selling price, and that’s a difference of

15,000g

Earned through having patience.

Patience in Everyday Goldmaking

But that’s a high price item, the vial of the sands, and takes a while to craft. How to apply this in every day gold making?

Let’s look at enchanting mats.

On 20th June 2018, Cataclysm timewalking event will begin. The last event was March 14th 2018.

During any timewalking event, more players are in the dungeons of that period, and more players are disenchanting the materials from that period.  The supply will be increased.

The effect may be deaden this month because we are drawing so close to the end of Legion, but the effect will still happen.

The enchanting materials for Cataclysm were Hypnotic Dust, Lesser & Greater Celestial Essence, Heavenly Shard, and Maelstrom Crystal.

Here’s the EU Realm Quantity of Heavenly Shards after the last Cataclysm Timewalking Event

Here is the prices of Maelstrom Crystal just after the last timewalking, compared to recently

It’s not hard to predict that prices of Cataclysm enchanting materials will be lower than usual from 21 June to 31 June, and that stocking up now will save you some gold.

Sure, you can make a little gold by flipping the mats, Buying at 11g, selling at 19, gives you a 72.7% markup.

You can make even more if you use the materials to craft.  Here are some potential profitable crafts for you to consider.

  • Landslide
  • Power Torrent
  • Wildwalk
  • Heartsong
  • Hurricane
  • Assassin’s Step
  • Lavawalker
  • Bracers Greater Speed
  • Bracers Greater Critical Strike
  • Peerless Stats
  • and the pet: Magic Lamp

Quick and Easy?

In conclusion, a quick win can be a long term loss. So stay patient.

Five Legion Foods to Cook for Battle for Azeroth

  1. Fighter Chow
  2. Bear Tartare
  3. Crispy Bacon
  4. Spiced Rib Roast
  5. Deep Fried Mossgill

Every expansion there are cooking items that carry all the way through the expansion.

Items that boost stats,  that give speed enhancements and even do enjoyable effects to your character.

Won’t These Legion Foods Be Outdated in Battle for Azeroth?

Gold Queen says “Leveling cooking in Battle for Azeroth is going to be super simple, and give you better buffs.  But until the materials are in high supply, and you’ve learned all the recipes, they’re going to be expensive, and a pain in the butt to farm.  Get ahead of the curve selling old Legion food, preparing now, selling at BfA launch, and you’ll ease yourself into the new cooking market as the supply increases of the new cooking ingredients.

Nomi is a Burning Fool

If you did any cooking leveling with Warcraft Legion you got to meet the Fire-Mage-turned-Cook named Nomi.

First introduced as an apprentice cook during World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria he seemed to have opened up his own restaurant in Dalaran.

In the beginning, it seemed that Nomi the cook burnt everything.   But later he must have decided to take correspondent courses from Gordon Ramsey because our fire inspired cook began to cook more and more items with less and less gasoline.

With any expansion, items that boost Stamina, raise stats or give speed enhancements/healing enhancements become very important.

They can give you the edge when doing quests and going from Enemy to Enemy.  Making the downtime to recover be less and less.

Time to Bring the Food From the Kitchen to the Outdoors

When looking at the value you should be looking at three things.

Demand, easy to make and personal use.

This is why knowing what can be cooked even on one character and placed on the AH will become very important.

Many old professions (including cooking) get ignored for the new shiny profession items.  So if you can prepare or already prepare specific items you can boost a players ability to level faster.

Fighter Chow

This was a popular item to have with when leveling during Legion.

The 400% increase in regeneration allowed you to have little downtime between quests and mobs.   This was especially effective for classes with little or no self-healing ability out of combat.
(edit:  this was changed after this article was published to become a flat 1818 heal every 5 sec when out of combat)

The questline to obtain the pattern starts in Azuna with the questline ‘Morale Booster’

Bear Tartare

This is a recipe that drops from random mobs in Stormheim.

With the changes in Cooking with Battle For Azeroth if you haven’t already learned Legion cooking then you will need to start the learning process before it drops.

The buff itself gives you a nice sprint effect that makes ‘kill’ quests go by faster.

The estimated speed boost is similar to the boost that a rogue has access too every 30 seconds.

Crispy Bacon

Who doesn’t like Bacon?  In this case, Crispy Bacon extends any benefit from a Broken Isles for an additional hour.    This includes all of the buffs that are given from the different crafted foods in Legion.   Can be handy if the materials are found cheaply on the AH.

You obtain this quest by having Nomi experiment with bacon at his Test Kitchen.

Spiced Rib Roast

Spiced Rib Roast is for the player who likes to have firepower in their questing.

Especially for Melee range players.

This can allow you to kill mobs faster and get your quests to turn in much quicker.

Deep Fried Mossgill (or other plus stat foods)

There were five ‘stat’ foods that were available during legion.    Each of these added a large boost to a single stat for a player.  With the changes coming in BFA as far as stats as well as mobs continuing to scale with your level any advantage is a good advantage.

For each stat Advantage, you would need

Deep Fried Mossgill   –    +Haste
Faronaar Fizz    –  +Versatility
Pickled Stormray    –    +Mastery
Salt And Pepper Shank   –  + Critical Strike

Selling a Cooking Leveling Booster Pack

How to market your leveling ‘booster’ pack

With the opening of an expansion, there is always a race to get to the maximum character level as possible. This is where your knowledge is going to come in handy.

Many players won’t know the advantage of having leveling food and stat food in their packs. Keeping players well supplied with food on the AH will allow you to a steady profit dropping into your bags.

Also keeping stacks of these in your guild bank will give your guildmates the same advantage that you have as you are stocked up and ready to go.

Good Luck and Good Profit Hunting

About The Gold Dragon

The Gold Dragon is part of The Gold Queen’s “royal” court.  He began making gold his way in Azeroth 8+ years ago. Soon he took his menagerie of crafters and gatherers all the way to the legion HQ and beyond.  I’ve always believed in helping people if they ask and showing people that you do not have to be a Goblin Engineer to make gold in World of Warcraft. Many of the lessons I’ve learned in obtaining gold in WoW I’ve also adapted to my personal life. I have gained and spent over 8 million gold. Spending on personal items and helping my guildmates. Dancing on Azerothian mailboxes for gold tips is just a hobby.  I believe that everyone can make gold if they want to!

Warcraft Burn Out Advice

I get it. It’s the end of expansion.

All there is left to do is farm the raids, play with archaeology, complete achievements that are going away soon, make gold, make some more gold, and desperately try and find a group that is still doing early expansion achievements that you still want to complete.

Your friends are leaving. Logging out for a few weeks, back August 14.

It’s hard to get motivated.

I have a few tips for you.

Mage Tower for Gold Makers

You can profit from serving Mage Tower completionists during this time.  Mage Tower needs flasks, food, consumables.

Check out the full guide.

Burnout

Burnout!

Gold Making During Burnout

Stockpile the items you’re going to need.  Dump the ones you wont.

A guide to this is in production, so watch this space, we’ll be publishing in about a week.

In the meantime, keep picking up the low hanging fruit, the items posted for 10% value, and especially pre-Legion bargains.

Make full use of TSM to let you know which items are posted for sale below average market value.

Personal Burnout Advice

Burnout is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress.

There is a difference between lack of motivation, boredom of doing something repeatedly without a tangible reward, and full blown depression.

The problem is that one can lead to another. Especially if you push yourself. And Aunty Gold Queen doesn’t want you to feel that bad.

  1. Recognise that repeated activities without rewards feel like work. Unpaid work.
  2. Set yourself play limits.  Turn on an alarm clock and after 1 hour play, or whatever is best for you, turn off the game. Ration your play.
  3. Make your tasks into games.  See how fast, or how many you can gather. Race someone. Anything to mix it up.
  4. Stop feelings of being overwhelmed by making an organised daily list of activities, and then striking out half of the work.
  5. Do something else. Make a new character. Try the oppostite faction. Try a different server.  Try a different *gasp* game.
  6. Stop doing the stuff that stresses and worries you.  Give up on that task, for a while.  Next week is ok.
  7. Look after your body. Make sure you get enough sleep (some are ok on 6, I need 10 hours).  When you eat, take the food away from the computer and eat mindfully somewhere you can’t see the computer. Cut down on drinking or smoking. Go for a walk. Nothing major, dont make it a new challenge. Just baby steps.
  8. Stop pushing yourself. Recognise that you’re going to take a short time to heal and regather your energy to push again.
  9. Chat to some mates.
  10. Take an actual real holiday (vacation).
  11. Make a new friend.  Join us on the TGQ Discord channel and chat with some players about non-gold topics.
