I’d like to give a public thanks to Voltec.  He’s a reader who commented on my post about the petshop mini guide.  He took the time and effort to say that he enjoyed the mini guide, entirely without asking.  Further, he sent me an email earlier this week to let me know when part of my website decided to 404.  Without him telling me, it might have taken me another few weeks to have discovered the problem and fixed it.  So: thank you Voltec, you’re great you are.

I’d also like to say “hi” to reg4c who won the competition for the Razer Naga Mouse, and was so excited he emailed me without his address for posting and had to send a second email, hehe! I hope I get a comment from him when he gets the mouse in the mail.

What will you do once you reach the gold cap? How would you spend it?

part of the JMTC Blog Carnival

Hey guys, ever really really been attracted to a gorgeous girl (or guy) and flirted your heart out, and been slightly disappointed when she turned out to be a big pushover?

Ever been back to an old dungeon in World of Warcraft, like Scarlet Monastry or Molten Core, and remembered how difficult the pulls were, how hard it was to complete and then felt a bit mellow to discover those bosses you worked on for so long were now just a walk in the park.

Blades of Light! Defend the Cathedral!  Die, insect! and a few seconds later they’re dead?  Leaves one feeling a bit empty.

Now that’s how I’d feel if I ever hit the gold cap. After you’ve hit the gold cap you have two places you can go:

Hit another gold cap, or spend spend spend.

My different opinion on hitting the gold cap is: no thank you.  I want to sit at a comfortable “near-cap” of around 800,000g and know that I could buy anything I wanted, whenever I wanted, and still enjoy playing the gold and AH game.  It is a mini-game in itself, and I never want to completely decimate and destroy it.  I’d like to be in control of it, and tease the gold cap, flirt with the gold cap, and never actually reach it.

After all, don’t you have the most fun with a guy/girl when you’re flirting and teasing with them? 😉

Talking point: Would you rather enjoy the game of AH, or are you looking forward to showing off your million gold?  Searching for a super rare mount or other vanity items?  Or prefer to quietly smirk richly in the corner?

Today I’m interviewing Mr Exploiting My Server, or what should we call you? And why did you choose “exploiting” ?

My real name is Adam. Most of the people I hang around with in my E-Life call me that–or Sinku which is my Shaman’s name. I chose Exploitingmyserver.com because that is actually what each of us are doing. The word exploit among gamers has a negative connotation in which they assume means boting or hacking. When actually its is defined as Exploit: use or manipulate to one’s advantage. That is exactly what all of us “gold guru’s” are doing is manipulating the economy in the game to our advantage. On top of that I wanted a name that would catch readers. Someone googles the words WOW Exploit is highly likely to run across my site. There was a lot of thought that went into picking this name and so far it has really payed off.

I think we’ve heard you on the Just My Two Copper friday night TeamSpeak meetings. How did you get involved in that?

I got involved with that mainly because Mageshadow recognized me as someone who knows what they are talking about. Not trying to sound like i’m all proud of myself or anything but that’s really what it comes down to. You’ve really just gotta put yourself out there and get people to ask you questions and if you truly know what your talking about people will take notice.
