How To Keybind the TSM3 Macro to your Mouse Scroll Wheel
TSM3 is now in the beta stage and I am lucky enough to have a testing copy. (It’s meant to be for testing, I mostly just break it by accident.)
TSM, Trade Skill Master, is famous for its ability to post items on the Auction House at super fast speeds. In TSM3 this ability is expanded and made even easier!

How To Keybind the TSM3 Macro to your Mouse Scroll Wheel
Once you have TSM3 installed, open Trade Skill Master with the /tsm command
“Where is the TSM3 Mouse Scroll Wheel Macro Keybind setup?”
The first option on the top left hand side is TSM Features Make sure it is selected.
Tabs appear: Info, Inventory Viewer, Macro Setup and Customer Price Sources. We want Macro Setup. Click this tab to open it.
You have two choices to make.
- Which buttons would you like keybound to the mouse scroll wheel?
- What modifiers would you like to add. Modifiers are what you hold down while you move the scroll wheel. This ensures that TSM isn’t activated when you use the mouse scroll wheel normally, for example zooming in and out.
In this example, I have chosen to add Post, Cancel, Craft Next, Destroy, and both types of Buyout. My modifier is Control. My mousewheel will activate the macro when scrolled up or down, and the control button held down.
Then go ahead and click the
Create Macro and Bind Scroll Wheel button
Give it a few clicks, just for good measure and make sure the macro is created.
What can the Mouse Scroll Wheel Macro Keybind do for you today?
Post
Cancel
Destroy (mill/prospect/disenchant)
Buyout from your search
and Buyout from your shopping list
TSM Destroy
(Prospecting, Milling)
TSM Auctions Buyout
Everyone has experienced the idiot who posts 500 stacks of herbs/ore/cloth/leather in singles, requiring our aching fingers to click-click-click-click to buy out all the items.
With TSM3 Mouse Wheel Scroll Macro, you can buy out those 500 singles with your mouse wheel keybound to the Buyout button.
[bctt tweet=”With TSM3 Mouse Wheel Scroll Macro, you can buy out 500 single posts in a few seconds!”]
Warning: Free Spinning Mouse Wheel Buyout is not recommended. You could end up buying much more than you intended. Keep your mouse wheel under control!

Building a 30,000g Passive Income with Inscription – Part 5
Final part of our gold-from-glyphs series. TSM3 Inscription Guide. With full pictures.
Posting Glyphs
Pre-check:
- You have glyphs in your inventory.
- You have TSM, and a TSM group for the glyphs
- The TSM glyph group has a posting operation attached.
[button type=”icon” icon=”warning”] Warning: I’m now using Trade Skill Master 3 Beta, not TSM2. My window might look a little different to yours. Don’t worry – it still does the same old TSM2 functions. Plus, you get an early sneaky peek at TSM3 in action. [/button]
Ok let’s go! Head to the Auction House!
Open the Auctioning Tab at the bottom.
Find your group (Glyphs) It may be hidden under Professions > Inscription > Glyphs like mine.
Make sure it is highlighted. For even faster posting, make sure you have deselected other groups.
Click Start Post Scan bottom left
Wait for the window to populate
Click Post or use your macro-keybound mouse scroll wheel to post even faster.
Your glyphs are now posted.
Interestingly, TSM will also tell you at the top, the total value of your auctions (111,542g!) and the incoming gold (auctions sold but gold not yet received)
Any glyphs left in your bags will be ones that you already have the maximum listed. Store these in your guild bank. (read below)
Cancelling Undercut Glyphs
When to cancel?
You can choose to either babysit your glyphs, cancelling and reposting constantly, or to simply leave them. Experiment to see which suits your playstyle. For a passive income, I would only do this “babysitting” about once a day.
Head to the AH. Open the Auctioning tab again.
It scans your auctions for undercuts.
Alas, I’ve been undercut. Click the Cancel Button, or use the mouse scroll wheel macro to quickly cancel the undercut items
Reposting Cancelled Glyphs
Grab your cancelled glyphs from the mailbox. Run, don’t walk, to the AH. Post them on the AH just as described above.
Storing Glyphs
Why store all the glyphs?
- It means that when your glyphs sell (YAY!) then instead of having to find the cheapest herb costs, mill into pigment, make ink, and craft the glyph, then the glyph is ready and waiting for sale. No need to be at the mercy of the herb prices.
- You can buy the herbs for your glyphs when they are cheap, and ignore herb prices when they are high because you don’t need them.
- A few silver difference per herb price, for the tens of thousands of herbs you will need, will save you a fortune. And that fortune saved will become gold in your pocket when your cheaply-crafted glyphs sell.
Take your bag with excess glyphs to your guild bank vault.
Change one of your guild bank tabs to a nice looking inscription or glyph image if you want.
You’ll probably need more than one tab, I’ve used up to 4, but I’m pretty untidy.
[button type=”icon” icon=”notice”] Remember, I’m using TSM3 which is still in beta, my visuals will be slightly different to yours![/button]
If the TSM Bank user interface doesn’t come up with you open the guild vault, type /tsm bankui You can move the bankui around with your mouse, if it is in the way of your bags or bank.
This is what is looks like with TSM3. As you can see, I already have some glyphs stored in the bank.
Under the Warehousing tab on the TSM Bankui, make sure that the only group you have selected is “Glyphs“. Deselect all groups if necessary then click the name of the group to highlight it.
Then click Move Group to Bank. Your buttons might look different, but they will look like this in TSM3 and have the same functionality.
How to get Glyphs out of the bank
… and make sure they are the right glyphs
Head to the Guild Vault. Once more, open up /TSM Bankui
This time, use the Auctioning tab instead of the warehousing tab
Choose “AH Shortfall to Bags”
This moves all the glyphs that are required by the Auctioning operation of the group you selected (Glyphs).
Take your inventory of glyphs and post it on the AH.
A note on Glyph Pricing
Sometimes your glyphs will sell for very little profit. You pay up to 18g for them, and they sell for 20g. This worries you.
But:
- 2g is still profit. 1,000 x 2g = 2,000g.
- Some of the glyphs will sell for higher. Much higher. And this is all pure profit. 1,000g x 200g = 200,000g.
- Posting every glyph in the game means that whichever glyph your customer wants, you have it. You can have their gold. Your competitors are not getting that gold, and therefore have less buying power for the mats (herbs). Your competitors may go and start farming herbs. Which gives them less time at the AH babysitting their glyphs. Which means you sell even more.
- You have a bank full of glyphs. Glyph prices are not dependent on herb prices. Once your cheap glyph has sold, your next glyph of that type might sell for much more.
- You’re building a long term income here. You’re looking for 30,000g per month. So your income should be 1,000g per day. That’s perfectly doable on the profits of the cheap glyphs alone. The higher priced glyphs are a bonus.
- Most of the time, you will not pay 18g for the mats to craft the glyph. Your average purchase cost might be only 10g. Which makes 20g double your money.
- This is *NOT* meant to be your biggest gold maker. Glyphs are not a big gold maker. But they are easy to automate and they are easy to create a passive income.

We’ll Get You Rich
“Don’t worry guys, we’ll get you rich,” was my answer to some readers on twitter who need help making gold.
First thing to know: There is no magic IWIN button.
There is no magic formula.
You cannot just copy what other players are doing. You can only copy the steps they took to discover the methods that work for them, and then repeat them, and find what works for you.
Making gold is like building lego blocks:
You spend most of your time doing trial and error tests to find out what makes gold.
Once you find a method, add that lego block it to your mix, your daily work, and try and get it either automated or at least into such a routine that its really quick to perform.
The guys who asked about gold making had already made some gold, though. So they already knew the basics of how gold works. I think they just need encouragement and ideas for stepping up their game.
Taking the Lego Blocks metaphor, the guys already know how to use a lego block, and how to put lego blocks together, but they need to get a hundred lego blocks and put them all together in an awesome way. So I’m not here to patronise you with “2k per hour farming Cathedral of Darkness!” rubbish. You know what you’re doing.
May I suggest?
- Time management
- Trying new things
- Sort out bad habits
- Add successful items to your routine. Organise that routine.
- Automate – the quicker you can do your daily routine of things that work, the more time you have to try out new methods, to fail quickly and move on to the next idea.
- Alts, alts, alts.
- Piggy bank to curb your spending.
- In fact everything in this advice here “hit a gold plateau“

Blizzard wants you to be rich. It’s in their interest for you to have gold, for you to have in-game-spending-tokens whatever they are called. Because it gives you power to play the game. The more you play, the more you want to play. Would you still play WoW if quests didn’t give gold? If you had to farm, gather, craft? If garrisons didn’t give you thousands of gold per day. Garrisons can make a fortune all by themselves, and my friend Majeeko is currently working on a spreadsheet taking his notes about how much gold can be made purely from garrisons with alts. Make sure you have a garrison or six in your daily routine.

Split your day into 15 or 30 minute chunks
Struggling with boredom during farming? Then make it a really quick farm. Break your time up into 30 minute sections or even 15 minutes. Use this link to set a timer for yourself. Set to 30 minutes, and after 30 minutes you are no longer allowed to continue farming that area. You must either move to a new area (include travel time in your 30 minute slot!) or log an alt for your next 30 minutes, and do something different. You can do anything for 15 minutes, even the ultra boring Guo Lai Halls “keys” farm.
What can you do in 30 minutes?
- It’s enough time for a few transmog farm runs of an old instance, enough time to spam BoT.
- It’s enough time to do all the crafting and auctioning required for the day for one profession.
- You could treat yourself with some pvp, or a heroic with your guildies.
- Reward yourself for work you do.
- Spend 30 minutes sniping at the AH, or just browsing through all the craftable items for one profession, learning the profits and pricepoints of your competitors.
- Repost your greenies (friends don’t let friends vendor greens).
- Research an addon and how to use it. TSM3 is out soon (™)
- Research raid tactics for the evening, then go back to gold making.
- Learn to flip.
- Read a gold blog. Watch a twitch.tv broadcast (recommended list coming soon!) Listen to a podcast.
- Grab some paper and write down a list of things to look into. Steal my ideas!
- Buy a professional gold guide (Here’s a recommended one.) (And here’s another one!)
- Chat to people on twitter, ask questions.
- Try things out and fail. Fail more. Every fail is one step closer to discovering something awesome that works, then adding it to your routine.
Why are my things not selling?
Are you pricing too high? Are you selling at the true market value or are you inflating the value to wishful thinking? Is there truly demand for this item? If it’s not selling at that price, in that quantity, at that time, learn from that, and change it.
Why am I being undercut?
Check out the undercutting/competitors guides.
Wait, you want specific ideas?
Best thing to do is scroll back over my blog posts, and check which ones are doable for you. Or, use the professions or addons menu tabs to look for your professions or addons you want to learn. Or just use the search bar at the top right of the page.
Remember, places to farm change all the time, they get nerfed, they get crowded, they get boring. Items to craft change with each expansion and patch. Garrison followers and missions change.
But the attitude towards making gold: abundance, hard work, determination, curiosity. These are timeless.

He Undercut Me And Crashed The Market! Help!
Recognise it for what it is
- Could this be walling? Where a competitor posts thousands of items like glyphs at a set price just over the crafting cost?
- Is this a plain attempt by another player, trying to force competitors out?
- Don’t worry, there is room for all competitors. There is enough gold to go around! The more gold your competitor makes, the more he can spend on your sales tomorrow.
- Your competitor is afraid of you. He is afraid of competition. He doesn’t want to share his toys.
Deep breaths
Now you have relaxed a little have a better look at the situation.
- Is this a temporary situation?
- What is the long term view of this market?
- How have the past sales been?
- Is something coming out in the next patch that you don’t know about that could cause a market crash?
- Is the market crashing or is your competitor just being a jerk?
- C’mon admit it if you have to. Were you overpricing? Can the market really support the price you wanted?
What to do
- Hope he’s an amateur, and does not have the stamina that you have.
- If its a big quantity item, like glyphs, continue to post your items, either at the normal high price (ready to sell when his expire/disappear) or at a low price (grit your teeth and remember, a profit is a profit, is a profit, and with a high quantity you can multiply these small profits). And keep a good plentiful stock of this item ready to pounce when he gets bored.
- If it’s a transmog piece, rare pet, gear, or similar high value item, you can choose based on your past experience and knowledge of the market. Buy him out, or wait for his item to not sell. See this previous blog post on handling competitors.
- Consider buying him out, but don’t spend much gold. Buy only a few of his pieces, just to see his reaction.
- Ignore the cheap item and wait. Don’t antagonize your competitor, remember he is already frightened. Frightened competitors do nasty things. Consider this competitor like a big fat bully pushing everyone out the playground. Just wait for him to get tired, then move in.
- One guy can not crash a market for an entire server unless he’s absolutely determined. You don’t want him to get determined. Softly softly approach.
[box type=”warning”] Whatever you do, keep your emotions out of it.[/box]
You can get revenge on this guy, sure, but at a price. And having more gold, being richer than him, winning, is better revenge than simply pissing him off and gaining an enemy in your chosen market/s.

How Did You Earn 19 Million Gold?
If I had a copper for every time I was asked, I would have 19 million gold.
- Determination – Not giving up when things fail. I once lost all my stock when I was away from WoW for too long.
- Trial and error – try something. When it fails, discard it, when it succeeds, repeat it. Then try and automate it.
- Commitment – I’m in it for the long term.
- Organisation – Time management is a massive deal, bigger than you think it is.
- Farming – When necessary
- Crafting – both on alts, and with my garrison buildings
- Adding Value – taking an item and making it more valuable.
- Knowing the customer – Caring for my customer. Being careful about my reputation. Finding out what customer wants to buy, and selling that.
- Questing – and normal garrison missions. Leveling alts. Raiding old content. Killing things and looting them.
All of these things, you can do them too! If you can make 1,000g you can make 100,000g.
Wait, how?
Are you looking for specifics? Where to farm? What to buy? What to craft? What to sell? What to do with your time? These things change constantly. Come back to my blog to see the latest ideas, or browse with the search button (upper right) or menus to find interesting ideas you can try.
Where did the name “the gold queen” come from?
A few years ago, after one tiring day posting Transmog items on Silvermoon EU, I noticed I had 4 million gold worth of transmog items available for sale on the AH. At the same time, the AH was worth 16 million. I owned 1/4 of the AH, without intending to. I was so excited, that I told my children when I picked them up from school. My youngest son was so excited for me, he said
“Wow, mummy, you’re like the queen of gold!”
We both laughed at it, and I took it as my blog name. I don’t take it seriously. I’m proud of what I’ve managed to achieve, but not arrogant. I don’t actually think I’m royalty haha.
Encouragement
Hopefully by now you will see that
1) you can do what I do
2) you probably are already doing what I do.
So please be encouraged to keep going, and to make as much gold as I’ve earned.

Building a 30,000g Passive Income with Inscription – Part 4
Restock your inventory
You have a list of glyphs you want to make. Now you want to know how many to make of each in order to reach your stock limit, and which herbs to buy to mill them, how much to pay, and what is the cheapest and quickest way to do it.
How to ramp up to a stock of 20 stacked glyphs of each type
In the first week, set your restocking amount in TSM to 2.
In the next week, increase the amount to 3. You should now have enough for 2 of every glyph in the market, and start to work towards one spare glyph of each type stocked in your bank.
Continue to increase your TSM restocking amount until you can reach 20.
I suggest you only increase your restocking amount by one at a time, to allow yourself time and space to buy new herbs, mill and turn them into ink then glyphs. By taking it one step at a time, you will proceed towards your goal.
Don’t forget to press return after entering the number, in order to register and save it into TSM.
How to buy the herbs
Remember that we were aiming for 6g per ink, 18g per glyph? When you open Shopping tab at the Auction House with TSM, you can order the prices of the items by “price per target item”. When your target item is a single ink, and we’re aiming for 6g each, then just buy herbs that would create inks for less than 6g. It is not important how much per herb you pay, it is important how much per ink you pay.
1. Open your Inscription profession window
2. Change to TSM Groups tab
3. Choose the group. (Glyphs)
4. Click Restock Selected Groups
5. Open Show Queue >> and check that the glyphs have been listed << Hide Queue if you wish.
6. Click the Gather Tab. In the pane that pops up, Choose your scribe, choose Inscription, click Start Gathering
7. This Gathering pane pops up, with Available Sources.
8. Head to the AH. Click the Shopping tab on the very bottom left.
9. In that Gathering pane, in the Current Source green text on bottom left hand side, choose the first ink for which you need to buy herbs.
10. The Auction House will fill with potential sources (ie herbs, pigments or maybe ready-made ink).
11. Click the top of the Price Per Target Item in order to sort potential purchases. Remember, we’re looking for herbs that will make ink where the ink will cost less than 6g to make.
12. Click each item and Buyout. If you have your scroll wheel set to the TSM macro you can buyout faster, but it’s still ok to purchase with clicks instead of scrolls.
[box type=”info”] /click TSMAuctioningCancelButton
/click TSMAuctioningPostButton
/click TSMAHConfirmationActionButton
/click Atr_Buy_Confirm_OKBut [/box]
For More on Mouse Scroll Wheel buying, check the Consortium Forums
How to mill the herbs
TSM allows one click milling. It is not possible to mill all herbs at once. Blizzard wants Warcraft players to input one click for one action.
/TSM Destroy if the destroying window does not show up. If you don’t use TSM, and just want to use a macro then your macro is
[box] /cast milling
/use [name of herb]
/use [name of another herb][/box]
Type /TSM destroy to bring up this window.
Make your ink
Once your pigment is made, you make your ink, then make the glyph. Open Inscription.
Make the Glyph
Click Show Queue >>
Craftable Glyphs, glyphs for which you have gathered the mats and made the right inks, will show up as green. Those which are queued for more than 1 glyph but you only have enough mats for some of the requested glyphs, show up blue. Those still waiting for mats show up in red.
What if there are no right herbs in the AH?
You can trade inks at the ink trader. I recommend trading inks by hand instead of using the TSM Gather function because TSM can try and buy some of the cheaper inks with your Warbinder’s Ink (WoD ink). You want to get the best trade for your ink, so trade your Warbinder’s Ink in for the most expensive ink (eg Celestial, Ink of Dreams, Ethereal). This way, if there is a shortfall, then you can make up the rest of your cheap ink (eg Moonglow, Lion’s, Midnight) from cheap herbs (eg peacebloom) or at a push go farm those easy-to-farm herbs just outside your capital city.
