The new falcosaurs in patch 7.1 give companion/battle pets, the opportunity to get a mount, and fun quests for a new reputation faction.

Unfortunately for gold makers, the pets (and mounts) aren’t BoE and can’t be sold, but you can sell portals to the cities needed in the quest lines.
Falcosaur Skinning Spree
On top of this, the Falcosaur world quest areas are the best in the game for skinning leather from beasts.
No more chasing around after players at Nesingwary’s, no more goat farming, no more mindless basilisk farming, no more bristlefur bears or pinerock stalkers.
Just look at all that leather lying around!

Also a great source of Wildfowl Eggs (cooking), pristine falcosaur feathers (first aid), and falcosaur eggs (cooking).

Starlight Rose Farming with a Level 101
Yes, you can do this! and make a fortune! No you don’t need a level 110!
You need:
- A level 101
- Some gold to gear them
- A gathering addon, I prefer Gathermate2 for Legion (optional)
- Stonehide Barding (optional)
- Sky Golem Mount (optional)
- Herbalism
- A Map (see below!)
This gold guide is not for beginners, because you need gold to invest in gear. It’s gonna cost you quite a lot to gear up, but the rewards in fun are amazing.
Can you make back enough gold in Starlight Roses to pay for your BoEs? Of course you can, if you sell wisely and make smart buying choices. Your toon can herb forever, and you’re going to have a lot of fun the moment the first level 110 mob comes rushing towards you and you decimate it with your twink.
Herbing at level 101 is not the only thing you can do. Check out Umren’s youtube vid where he talks about selling boosts to normal dungeons.

Work through the questline to get to Dalaran and pick up your Artifact weapon.

It avoids mobs, keeps you out of danger, and lets you gather a ton of Starlight Roses

Follow the road back to Irongrove Retreat
Take the path towards Suramar City, then turn left down here. This area is rich in Starlight Rose. When you have explored this area, turn BACK to Irongrove Retreat.
Keep checking the left hand side of the road as you head back to your starting point.
Helpful tips
Stonehide Barding is useful for when you are mounted (on a sky golem) and want to run away from mobs without being dazed.
A night elf has shadowmeld ability which can work in an emergency.
At level 101 with BoE gear you can take down a level 110. Probably not a pack of them! Be careful out there.
Bots like to fish here. Report the bastards.
Bears that are asleep, stay asleep. Bears that are sniffing at trees eat twinks and don’t even give you any loot.
Travelform, ghostwolf, and aspect of the cheetah all help.
Bodyguards are assholes that aggro everything. Leave them at home.
Avoid the Ettin, Avoid Rauren.
Need an addon to keep track whether a herbalism add has spawned or not? There’s an addon included in my addon pack.
Party Farming is a thing
Grab your guildies, grab your friends, whatever their level (you can protect them!) and go farming.
You can all herb the same node, and if someone is a miner, they can have the ore too.
Bring 4 friends, and you get FIVE TIMES THE LOOT.

RIP The Legion Shuffle
Last night, Blizzard stealth-nerfed the Legion Shuffle.
What is the Shuffle?
The Shuffle is.. wait.
The Shuffle was crafting an item, then disenchanting it, and selling the disenchant mats or making into scrolls for sale.
The best items were those that took cheap materials and ended up with expensive Chaos Crystals.
As a leatherworker I was concentrating on Warhide Bindings. Other players were shuffling with Shal’dorei Silk.
How to do the Shuffle
- Farm or buy the leather
- Craft warhide bindings with 9 stonehide leather (cost about 100g)
- Blue/rare warhide bindings were dealt with in two ways, either obliterated with Easy Obliterate (link to addon), or disenchanted to a leylight shard, depending on which would get the most gold, and ensuring the market wasn’t flooded. Worth about 60-80g, depending.
- Sometimes the crafting of items will proc and instead of getting a rare/blue warhide bindings bracer, you get an epic.
- The epics had a 100% chance to disenchant into chaos crystal. Worth up to 1,000g.
- The amount of 1,000g chaos crystal disenchants would more than offset any loss made from crafting the blue/rare bracers.
- And as they say, Step 3: profit
How did the Legion Shuffle change?
It was super great because the chance to get a chaos crystal was 100%.
This changed overnight
Those epic crafted items (here, Battlebound Armbands of the Fireflash) now have a 10% chance to give a Chaos Crystal, 90% chance to give a Leylight Shard, instead of the previous 100% chance to give a Chaos Crystal.
How did the Market React to the change in Chaos Crystals?
Immediately, all chaos crystals were subject to a snatch-and-grab, as sellers worried that the 10% nerf meant crystals becoming 10% more rare.
The previous 1,000g price (very rough!) shot up by 10 times.
However
Not all Chaos Crystals come from disenchanting epics!
The quantity of epic items being disenchanted is increasing, as players get into LFR, raids with guilds, mythics and mythic+ dungeon. This is enforcing a DOWNWARD pressure on the prices.
And
Not all Chaos Crystals are on the Auction House. Many are in bags, inventory, banks, guild banks, some are sat expired in mailboxes. This will also give a DOWNWARD pressure on the prices.
Why are the prices crashing back down to 1,000g on my server?
Not everyone knows this news, so sellers see the price is higher than the previous under-1,000g and want in.
Expect dumping of stock until players realise that their stock supply is about to wither. This will give an UPWARDS pressure on the prices.
As players go into these new LFR, raids, mythics, their new gear will need enchants, enchanting scrolls. This will give an UPWARDS pressure on the prices.
Wait, up, down, up, down, where will chaos crystals stop?
Continuing increase of raid/mythic disenchants is an inexorable downwards pressure.
Players throwing their current stock of crystals is a strong but temporary downwards pressure. When this eases off, and their realisation kicks in, the upwards trend will begin.
But it won’t be enough to counter that inexorable downwards-over-time pressure.
Prediction
Therefore I predict a bell curve of prices beginning now. Low, rising to maybe 4k, and then slowly coming back down.
That’s if no other pressures kick in. Who can guess those?
Should you invest in Chaos Crystals now? Yes, if you are 100% sure about all the pressures mentioned. If you’re not, then don’t. You’ll lose gold.
I’m not going to invest, myself. I’d prefer to not-profit, than to lose gold.
Was this wise of Blizzard to do?
Yes, because it puts the control of the Chaos Crystal market back in the hands of the server as a whole, the players who are running the PVE content, instead of the AH players like myself.
Much though you and I enjoy manipulating the market, it’s dangerous and gives a volatile price based on the work and whim of a few market traders.
Why a stealth nerf? What else could they have done? Pre-anounced it and watched everyone go mad and angry at them?
It’s done now and let’s get on with things.
How to do the New Legion Shuffle
Instead of a guaranteed profit when crafting an item for shuffling, you will need to factor in:
Whether you have tier 1, 2 or 3 of the crafting for the item.
The amount the item costs to craft, in mats. You will want this as low as possible.
The proc rate for rare to epic item when crafting. Someone clever with math will have to discover this.
Then instead of assuming 1 epic item = 1 chaos crystal, the new math will be 1 epic item = 10% chaos crystal, 90% leylight shard prices. (Remember, you only get one shard or crystal per d/e, and over time this will balance out at 10/90)
Should you disenchant your item or obliterate it?

Why Azuregale Bay is My New Home
Because fish, and ancient mana!
- Barracuda fish schools usually around 20g each, currently up to 60g each due to raid food requirements
- Ancient Mana Crystals 3-400g each
- Baits Axefish Lure, Ravenous Fly Bait up to 1,000g each (bait selling guide)
It’s also a super easy area to get rare fish, and I’m picking up lots of Artifact Power for my Underlight Angler.
Where?
Azuregale Bay is the area of water near Jandvik, just east of Suramar City, in Suramar zone in Broken Isles.
Black Barracuda Farming
For 100% chance to fish, you need 950 fishing. Grab your Worm Supreme!
- Look for the Barracuda Schools and only fish in these schools.
- Run over the water to the next school.
- With upgrades to your Underlight Angler, you can walk on the water without the need for spells or mount, and can fish up a whole pool of black barracuda in one cast.
- A barrel bobs to the surface in place of the school and you click it to loot all the fish.
Ancient Mana farming
Voxxel’s Wowhead guide explains the difference between each Ancient Mana node,
I’m pleased that my secret Ancient Mana farming spot still works, is still secret, and still gets an awesome amount of Ancient Mana, however all the Ancient Mana there is BoP so if you want BoE mana chunks or mana gems, you need to scout for lootable nodes. Azuregale Bay is the best place for me to do that because:
- You can scout the area safely. Walk across the top of the water with either Path of Frost, Water Walking, the Underlight Angler ability, or a Water Strider mount.
- When you see a node, you can mouseover it to check its type
- If the node is Ancient Mana Crystal, you can dive straight down from the water surface and then swim straight back up to the top to continue scouting
