Autism Awareness
What is an autism awareness page doing on a Warcraft gold making blog?
Very simply, because The Gold Queen is autistic.
Autism is described as a neurological development disability.
It affects me a lot so I wrote this page to explain that to you.
Why autistic not autism?

Wonderful cartoon by my friend Beth
How to Cure Autism
Autism is a lifelong condition and there is no cure.
Wishing that an autistic person be cured is equivalent to wishing that they disappear and another completely different person exist in their place.
Autism is nothing to do with vaccines.
High functioning v Low Functioning
High functioning / low functioning is a very crude and unreliable way to distinguish between the amount of support needs that autistic people have. Someone who is “low functioning” is typically seen as having learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and inability to relate to other people. While those who are called “high functioning” are lauded for having a high IQ, but being a bit dorky or clumsy or odd.
The functioning label is used mostly to dismiss autistic people rather than help them.
High functioning autistics are wrongly dismissed as “not deserving support” because they manage on their own.
Low functioning autistics are wrongly dismissed as “needing too much support and being a drain on society”.
In reality, the spectrum is indeed a spectrum, with every autistic person needing support. The amount of support changes in every autistic person. Sometimes I can be non-verbal. Sometimes, I wish desperately to stim or to avoid social contact, but I can’t. Some of my senses are hyper sensitive, some are under sensitive. While I seem perfectly capable of speech to an outsider, my communication is still impaired. I still don’t understand nuance, sarcasm, metaphors, unless they are specifically studied by myself. I have to study a lot.
Neurodiversity
Neurodiversity means that diversity in neurological conditions, primarily Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, is a normal variation in the human genome, that the strength of humanity is in its diversity. (See also biodiversity.) This challenges the outdated assumption that autism is a disorder.
Autistic people request that we be allowed to live our lives as we are, rather than being coerced or forced to adopt uncritically accepted ideas of normality, or to conform to a clinical ideal. Forcing such leads to PTSD, Meltdowns, Shutdowns, and ultimately Autistic Regression.
Autistic Regressions aka Burnout
Not to be confused with neurotypical burnout, autistic burnout is deeper reaching. From the outside view, it looks a lot like severe depression, social anxiety and regression. For a neurotypical person, being burnt out on something means they can’t continue to do this thing temporarily. Serious Warcraft raiders often complain of burnout or have to cut back on their activities in order to still experience enjoyment or motivation. For an autistic person, burnout means they can’t use their brain to fit in and mask as a NT person any longer. We lose speech, we lose social understanding, we lose self care, we lose ability to plan or organise, everything is overwhelming.
Autistic burnout is devastating, and is worse when we are shamed for it.
I’ve experienced this myself when I have had regression and had to cut back on my work as The Gold Queen and was shamed by a reader who was disappointed that I wasn’t providing information for them at the same rate previously. This shame actually extended the burnout/regression period by months.
Think of it like the arcane mage in warcraft with a mana burn and then an evocation mana regen phase.
Autism in Women
Misdiagnosed, misunderstood or missed altogether, autistic women struggle to get the help they need.
Autism in women looks different than autism in men. We don’t know yet why that is, whether it’s social pressures/expectations, or whether a neurological difference.
If you think you are autistic, start first with the AQ test.
If you’re female, look at this list of traits and differences.
Remember, these traits and “symptoms” can be experienced singularly by neurotypical people. Everyone gets anxious at some point. Everyone fusses over small details occasionally. Having some of the symptoms does not mean you have autism. In the same way that having face blemishes does not mean you have measles. It’s when the traits are all occuring together that it’s worth looking at diagnosis.
How does autism affect TGQ?
Negative Things
I fail at communicating – communicating is not just speech or typing. I’m bad for Twitch and best at writing. I’m awful at chatting. Imagine every pleasant little chat with a friend is with a stranger. and you’re blindfolded, and someone keeps shoving candy in your mouth unexpectedly, and you’re being judged on your performance by your boss. It’s that level of awkward.
It’s frustrating for me. Imagine you were the world’s best weather forecaster, and could predict the next day’s weather but your TV and broadcasting equipment didn’t work until the following week.
I fail at executive function – planning, organising, preparing, starting and stopping things. Imagine it’s 2am, and you HAVE to post another 100 items on the Auction House or your brain will fry. You’re exhausted, you have to do things in the morning, but you can’t stop yet.
I can be terrible at things that involve memory, and things that involve fine motor skills. For warcraft that means I stand in fire a lot.
I am anxious, both generally, and socially. When you don’t understand things properly, and it could harm you, you’re naturally anxious.
I suffer cycles of shutdown/burnout, then trying to make up for it by working too hard, and then burning out again.
Suicidal. I have passive suicidal ideation. I’ve had this on and off most of my life, but it’s almost all the time since the attacks I suffered in 2011.
A 2016 study in Sweden revealed suicide is a leading cause of premature death in people with autism spectrum disorder, while research from Coventry University in 2014 showed 66% of adults newly diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome reported having contemplated ending their own lives. People on the autism spectrum live an average of 18 fewer years than everyone else.
Talking of crime, autistic people are four times more likely to be a victim of hate crime than other disabled people. We are bullied, spat at, laughed at, mocked, our disability is used as an insult, our young men are stolen from and defrauded by fake friends, our young women are raped. Most autistic children are bullied. Not just by strangers, but by friends and family also. I am likely to receive abuse just for writing this. If we are hospitalised, our genuine needs are ignored, and we’re seen as less deserving of care. Some of us die because of this.
Employment. Only 16% of autistic adults in the UK are in full-time paid employment, and only 32% are in some kind of paid work. TGQ is my employment. You can check my income over at Patreon. Clue: it’s not much.
Isolation. I get lonely. Loneliness among autistic people is nearly four times higher than in the population as a whole: 41%, compared with 11% of the general population.
Catastrophizing. When something unimportant gradually became more important until it overshadowed everything else in a negative way. When your brain can’t work out an answer it goes over and over the problem trying to find the solution, worrying more and more.
Hyperempathy. Contrary to what you might have been told, autistic people are not without empathy. We just don’t display it in the way that NT people want us to. Personally, I’m so empathic that I can get myself worked up and upset about awful things that happen to other people who I haven’t even met. That’s not fun when you’re crying, again, over something you saw on TV news, or doing a happy dance because your ex boyfriend got married. People think I’m weird.
Public/Private face. A quote from autistic lady Susan Dunne:
“Over time I’ve learned the hard way how to present well in public but behind closed doors it’s a different matter. I live in a house where the lights, fridge, cooker and washing machine have packed up one by one but I lack the skills to sort it out, and I’d rather live in darkness than have someone I don’t know in my personal space. I may be a graduate with a high IQ but I struggle financially due to a lifetime of subsisting on a single, small part-time income. I lack close family or friends to support me and on the many days I spend alone I am liable to forget how to talk. Sometimes someone just giving me a reality check of the “have you eaten today?” kind would be useful.”
Every single everyday social interaction requires the concentration and effort that a NT person would put into their most stressful social occasion, such as a job interview.
As you can imagine, livestreaming is exhausting and very stressful, but writing guides on the blog is not. Twitter is also difficult, especially because I need to be seen to fit in, in order for my useful facts and guides to be taken seriously. That’s depressing. That’s why I get depression.
That’s why I have a couple of friends (Amanda Sparkles and Joey the Gold Dragon) to help with blogging, and answering emails and twitter questions.
Positive Things
I’m able to concentrate on a task for a long time. I can play warcraft all day every day! I can stand at a mailbox counting things, I can go to the Auction House and do activities that other people might find boring. They’re not boring to me.
Loyalty. I value my friends highly. If I find a friend who understands me, or if I find a product that works well, I will stick to it, through thick and thin!
Justice. With rigid black and white thinking, things are either right or wrong. And when something is wrong, its as baffling to me as someone telling me that cows are amphibians. They’re just not. They can’t be. I’m super into justice.
I love people . I’m understanding and interested in the difficulties people face, for things that aren’t their fault. I totally understand this.

Autism Awareness
We need more than awareness, we need more than tolerance, we need accessibility, and welcoming.
Only Autism?
For me, my autism also comes with a dose of Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with Depersonalization as a “coping mechanism” for sensory overload and stress. I also have lots of the symptoms of classic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome but I’m not pursuing a diagnosis.
How to help TGQ
Three simple things
Stop using “autistic” as an insult. It hurts.
Replace austism stigma not with acceptance but with interest and welcoming. Do your own research into autism.
Be patient with me. I am doing my best
Lots of love,

Alyzande, “The Gold Queen”
Battle for Azeroth: Buy Your Wowtokens Today
World of Warcraft have just announced Battle for Azeroth Q&A on 30 January 2018.
There are rumours that this could mean opening Battle for Azeroth pre-orders.
Pre-orders can be purchased with battlenet balance, which can be topped up with gold by buying wowtokens at the auction house.
Whether this is true or not, the rumour will be enough to create a run on wowtokens.
Join us live next Tuesday as we answer your #BattleforAzeroth questions for our latest Developer Q&A! Submit your questions using #WarcraftQA.

If you can afford to buy extra wowtokens, right now would be a good time to buy them.
If you don’t have enough gold, have a look through some of my guides to help you make more gold.
If preorders are announced, then wowtoken prices could rise.
If the Q&A does not include an announcement of pre-orders, then wowtoken may go back down a little, but it will rise when pre-orders are later announced.
As we near the end of the expansion, players are consolidating their inventories and relaxing from raiding to focus more on gold making. Wowtokens are likely to rise just for this reason.
How to Track Wowtoken Prices
Use an ingame addon to track wowtoken prices while you are playing Warcraft.
The addon checks on login and after that every minute if the WoW Token prices were changed, if so then it shows a window with the new price and how much it changed compared to the last price in percentages, if the price increased it is shown red, if it decreased it is show green.
When you’re not playing Warcraft, you can track it on the website.

To attain wealth in Warcraft, you need to take steps every day. You need to develop a gold habit.
— The Gold Queen 💛 (@thegoldqueen) December 18, 2017
The Three Steps To Making Warcraft Gold
The First Step
The first step in cultivating a gold habit, is not spending gold when you could save it.

The Second Step
The second step towards creating lasting Warcraft wealth, is discovering what players want. It’s an easy step, because *you* are one of those players, and you’re surrounded by them to ask.
The Third Step
The third and final step in making gold, is looking at yourself. Seeing how you can meet the needs. What you can do that’s valuable. How you can improve yourself. And how you can include this in your everyday routine.

Mhmmm exactly. I came to my server with 750k because I brought over 3 characters. I'm sitting at 5 million now and that's been over one raid tier. I never brought anything I didn't need

What is Warcraft Gold Royalty? What’s a Gold Queen?
The name “The Gold Queen” was given to me by my 7 year old son.
Several years ago I discovered that day I owned 1/4 of the value of the Auction House on Silvermoon EU.
I was telling my son on the way home from picking him up from school and he said “wow Mummy, you’re like the queen of gold, oh oh I know, you should call the new blog that”.
And that’s what I did.
You can be Gold Royalty too
Since the day I was named “gold queen” by my son, I’ve come to believe that anyone can be gold royalty.
It’s not an exclusive title.
It sounds arrogant.
It’s not.
How to become Gold Royalty
In order to qualify as Gold Royalty and become your own Gold King or Gold Queen, this is what you need to do
- Be interested in making gold.
- Know that wealth is not the number of gold coin pixels you own, but the ability to generate the gold you need, when you need.
- Vow to always make gold ethically. No botting. No cheating. No ripping people off.
- Always be looking to learn.
Are you Gold Royalty too? Come on into the Royal Court with us!

Transmog in 7.3.5
World of Warcraft patch 7.3.5 should be hitting your servers today / tomorrow.
Transmog farmers were worried.
Very worried.

What level are the Warcraft zones in 7.3.5?
Starting Zones: 1 – 10
Classic Zones: 10 – 60
Outland & Northrend: both 60 – 80
Pandaria & Cataclysm zones: all 80 – 90
Draenor: 90 – 100
Broken Isles – 100-110
How does this work for farming transmog items?
Your drops in these zones will now be the highest level you can get.
If you’re in the Den Whompers Cave in Thousand Needles, for example, and you’re level 110, you will get level 60 items.
If you’re in the Den Whompers Cave and you’re level 10 (What are you doing there at that level!?) then your items will be for a level 10 character.
If you’re in Grizzly Hills, Northrend, and you’re level 110, you will get level 80 items.
If you’re in Grizzly Hills, and you’re level 61, you’ll get level 61 items.
Dungeon Farming 7.3.5

In Dungeons, it gets more complicated, because your loot will be restricted to your character’s class and spec. On a hunter and want a staff with +int? Won’t drop.
Sure, for farming transmog looks for your own character, this system works well because you get higher chance of the right loot for that char.
But for farmers, players who want a good mix of armor and weapon types, things get complicated.
Leather wearing rogues, for example, won’t be getting plate Glorious set pieces from Ahn Quiraj or Jade set pieces from Zul Farak.
Potential Fix for Transmog Farming in 7.3.5
I’m still waiting on confirmation of this from players on US servers as the Patch goes live, however, here’s a possible fix for the transmog farmers:
Set your dungeon into a (private) LFG group, right click your portrait, and set group loot.

In order to change the loot, you’ll have to convert to raid

I’ll keep you updated over on twitter when I know whether this will work or not.
Follow me there @thegoldqueen
UPDATE 25 JAN 2018
Bad news, dungeons still only drop personal loot, even if you put it on raid.
Full list of new dungeon levels on wowhead

Disenchanter going farming?

Look out for a lot of [Rich Illusion Dust] !

Flash Gold for Flash Photography
With the release of Patch 7.3.5 many new opportunities have produced themselves in making gold in World of Warcraft.
One of these that will make engineers happy is the new S.E.L.F.I.E cam being introduced.
Lights, Camera, Gold Making
The original camera was introduced during the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It allowed players to, well take pictures of themselves in different areas. There was even a achievement attached to it.
With the next iteration of the S.E.L.F.I.E.cam we don’t have to wait for a garrison mission. A small questline opens up in Stranglethorn veil to complete.

Visiting Arielle Snapflash gives you a quick quest.
The quest requires 3 items.
Russet Belt – Purchased at the light armor merchant in Stormwind City or Orgrimmar
Iron Box – found somewhere in either Stormwind City or Orgrimmar
Wait for it. WOW Gold Making Opportunity Ahead
Standard Scope – Made from the AH or Engineers
Yes, that’s right. Engineers have their chance to shine in the sun.
Crafted from a Moss Agate and Bronze tube high end materials will not be required.
Some players have abandoned Engineers as being unprofitable. In this case many players will be scrambling to their auction house to obtain this item.
Here comes the tweetable!
[bctt tweet=”My Engineer and Miner alts are ready for some SELFIE gold making action in 7.3.5″ username=”thegoldqueen”]

Show me more, Gold Dragon!!!
Here is where you get to stretch your gold making ability.
The Moss Agate is found from prospecting Tin Ore.
It also can be mined from those Tin nodes.
With clever gold makers already taking the Moss Agate prices super high, look instead at prospecting and mining.
Take advantage of this now before it goes away.
7 different opportunities to get 10x your investment
- Crafting Standard Scope and sell
- Flipping Moss Agates
- Flipping Russet Belt on AH (pick up the Russet Set for extra gold)
- Crafting/Selling/Flipping Bronze Tubes
- Flipping Bronze Bars
- Selling Engineer services to craft for tips
- Flipping/Prospecting Tin Ore for profit
Miners can even profit on this change!
Bronze bars are crafted by Miners from 1 Tin Bar and 1 Copper Bar.
Gold opportunity to farm and craft this item for the future high demand
After the patch.
Jump on this opportunity quickly
This opportunity will go quick to maximize profit. But there will probably still be a slow and steady opportunity for continue gold. Anytime there is a new quest that has a demand for an item opportunities continue
So go out there, take a picture of the profits you can make over the next few weeks.
Good Luck and Good Profit Hunting
About The Gold Dragon
The Gold Dragon is part of The Gold Queen’s “royal” court. He began making gold his way in Azeroth 8+ years ago. Soon he took his menagerie of crafters and gatherers all the way to the legion HQ and beyond. I’ve always believed in helping people if they ask and showing people that you do not have to be a Goblin Engineer to make gold in World of Warcraft. Many of the lessons I’ve learned in obtaining gold in WoW I’ve also adapted to my personal life. I have gained and spent over 8 million gold. Spending on personal items and helping my guildmates. Dancing on Azerothian mailboxes for gold tips is just a hobby. I believe that everyone can make gold if they want to!
