Just a quick post to show how hard I’ve been working on Inscription lately:

glyphgold

This snapshot from BeanCounter using the “glyph of” search parameters shows I made 8,846g in 24 hours.

Gold Cap in one week

Last week, I attempted to use BigPicture to total up my gold and assets tied up in auctions or stored in bags/banks.

We came up with the total of 254,000g

I’ve just finished “stock taking” across three servers, and added up how much gold I have in my pockets, plus all the other bits and pieces floating around and come up with a new figure:

495,698g
500k

Which is a lovely increase of 241,698g in ONE WEEK.  Want to know how I did it?

It has now been a week since the 4.0 patch arrived, bringing with it new opportunities for gold-making.  I’ve spent the majority of my online time doing this instead of reorganising my level 80s, testing their new abilities or generally killing helpless mobs. I’m now heartily sick of glyphs, enchants and jewelcrafting, and I’m going to take stock of the gold I’ve made over the last week.

Gold made: 90,000g
Day 1 20k
Day 2 20k
Day 3 20k.
Day 4-7 30k total.
Value of crafted items ready for sale: maybe another 10-20k still to roll in ?

MGP | 20k Leveling

I’m seeing prices on all the glyphs collapse back down towards their pre-rush prices.

Please bear this in mind though:

  • Pre-rush prices include some expensive glyphs.  You can still make gold with glyphs by making these ones and selling them at high prices.  Please don’t be an idiot and push the prices down for ordinary decent hard-working folk like me 🙂
  • Demand is still above average.  Prices are still above 10g each  You can still make a profit with the mediocre glyphs.
  • Cost of making glyphs is now 3 x ink per glyph.  That’s higher than normal. Instead of costing negligible values, please factor in crafting costs when you work out your selling prices.
  • Don’t flood the market.  Keep posting only 2-3 glyphs of each type.
  • Start to build up a picture of the new value and selling price of each glyph.
  • Use your quick auctions successor (auction profit master / zeroauctions) to keep a record of which glyphs need crafting.
Supporting the glyph market by posting mine at 40-60g each has helped keep the market from collapsing to 5g per glyph.  I’m seeing quite a few at 20-30g.  It’s held the market up for another 24-36 hours longer than expected, but now I just want my profit.  I will now sell for 20g per glyph and be happy with it.  This is the time when I will post approx 1,000 glyphs at 20g each. Maybe 30g if I’m lucky. I’m also posting at 12h buyouts instead of 48h. I want these suckers sold now.
Glyph of Mage Armor is likely to be patched/hotfixed.  Sell, slowly but surely, at a good high price each.

Please bear in mind that this is only since WOTLK.

Typical Glyph Prices

That’s how much I’m sitting on right now in pure profit from the last 3 days work. At an roughly average rate of 20k per day, I’ve now made a 60,000g profit in glyphs on one server alone.

I’m not expecting to make any more than 5,000g today on glyphs, because I have been seeing a lot of complete idiots undercutting on glyphs by as much as 40g, taking prices from 40-50g down to 5-6g each. I’ve been posting mine back up at 45-50g each with a 48 hour time out purely to support the market. I’m now seeing a return on this, as the idiots make their 3g profit each and leave AH, and the less stupid push their prices back up to a sensible 30-40g per glyph. I’m now in a position to lightly undercut them and post mine for a profitable sale at 30-40g per glyph.

I’m satisfied with the 60k on this server, especially bearing in mind I still have a lot of glyphs still left to sell which will over time net me another 50-100k worth as I am patient with selling them instead of selling at stupid undercut prices.

I’d like to take this opportunity to extend a warm “thank you” to the nabs who are selling their glyphs at 5g each in an excited leap of panic selling. I bought them all and have either sold them for 40g each, or will do so in the next day or two. Muhahaha *cackle*

In other news, I had a “Christmas” moment, when I peeked in my level 1’s bank and found pack of endless pockets FULL of glyphs I had not posted. Woohoo! Gold, come to Mamma!
